The most non-combative quotes possible from Wilkerson's agent, still think #Jets get deal done by middle of June
brass continue to send the same message to Wilkerson's camp -- Come down on your price or no deal.
Ray Lucas thinks Mo should get a deal around 10-11 million per. If Mo is looking for a Watt type of deal he may not be playing at all this season if he decides to hold out.. Plus he coming off a so-so year where he played 13 games because of turf toe and to tell the truth I really didn't miss him.. I think he a very good player but he's not a All Pro that the team needs desperately to be successful IMO..

I would disagree entirely, he's easily a top 5 DT/DE, those guys get "$$$$". The jets may very well be working him as a bargaining chip for something else they are in desperate need of, a QB possibly?

Big Steve Grogan fan I see?? We used to call him the Jet killer..LOL Maybe they are using Mo for a bargaining chip because with the addition of our rookie draft choice Mo doesn't have a lot of leverage IMO..If I had a choice between keeping Mo or Sheldon I take Sheldon everyday and twice on Sunday..

Grogan was as tough as nails, and was one of the few reasons to watch the Pats in the early years. As for Sheldon vs Moe, you may be right, but it shouldn't have to be one or the other. I just think they may be keeping their options open in case a big name QB might shake loose over the summer.
Mine too, Nick, I'd rather keep him and rotate a super unit on the D-line, but if he's gonna demand JJ Watt money (absurd), then be a douche about it and holdout, ala vintage Revis, when we have a new HC who is trying to get guys implemented into his system, then I say MOVE HIS ASS if we can get a young stud edge rusher in return.I have no problem moving Wilkerson if it comes to that and you propose some interesting scenarios Ham. I would just like to see it play out some more. Wilkerson remaining here for a fair price would be my 1st choice.
I agree 100%. Mo is a beast and posing him isn't the preferred method but if he going to cause an issue, move him ad quickly as possible before his trade value drops. Get that LB that we missed out on in the draft. Not saying Williams wasn't the right pick but we can possibly get that young LB also now by trading Mo.Mine too, Nick, I'd rather keep him and rotate a super unit on the D-line, but if he's gonna demand JJ Watt money (absurd), then be a douche about it and holdout, ala vintage Revis, when we have a new HC who is trying to get guys implemented into his system, then I say MOVE HIS ASS if we can get a young stud edge rusher in return.
Another possibility is Kansas City.
They just re-signed Tamba Hali for 18 million and Justin Houston is a TOP 10 player in the sport, so they have no place to play for last years first round pick (whom I was particularly high on), 3-4 RUSH OLB Dee Ford.
They also need to upgrade at 3-4 DE ... desperately ... even more than Denver.
I'm sure they would swap Ford for Wilkerson in a heartbeat, and probably throw us a 2nd RD Pick on top of it.

I love how when we drafted Williams the board was "we need more talent regardless of position."
The same posters are okay with letting our most talented player, who happens to be in his mid 20s, walk out the door for some mid to late 1 and 2 talent.
The irony and contradictions are disgusting. The biggest concern with drafting Williams was our ability to keep our young nucleus together on d. On one thread that isn't a concern and on another, it's okay to blow up our young nucleus because we draft an unknown commodity at 6. SMH, Jets nation.
