Dee Milliner has a brace/soft cast thing on his right wrist as he goes through a special teams period. Had surgery on that wrist.

During the open portion of practice, Buster Skrine stretched and then went inside. He didn't come back out. Likely not practicing today.

A healthy Ridley would be equivalent of a pretty solid mid-season pickup, giving Ivory some relief and #Jets offense a versatile piece

Todd Bowles on what it would mean to beat the Patriots on the road: "It just means we're 5-1 and we have to get ready for Oakland." #notrex

I understand the response, but it "means something" ANY time you go into the SB-defending champ's house and come out with a W. Not because it's the Patriots but because you accomplished something most teams don't /can't.

No shame in acknowledging that. I for one will feel MUCH better about this season if we win, and I think that'd a legitimate assessment . . .

when you're still playing for something all wins mean something in the NFL because they are hard to get.. look how unsettling we made the first half look against a decimated redskins team?? can you imagine this place & the media's reaction if the jets lost last sunday?? LOLz it would have been absolutely brutal!!

& hey, i'm sure we can live with bowles using "coach speak" to the media..

just keep "stacking chips" coach bowles.. :)

No way around it, fair or unfair, the public/media perception of the Jets largely hinges on this game.

I understand that Bowles is playing down the importance of this game and from the teams perspective I think its the right approach. I like that Bowles is creating an even keeled, one game at a time, every game is important, don't get too high or too low approach. For the team that is a healthy approach in my view.

But then there is the outside perception and there's no doubt this game has massive implications from that perspective.

If the Jets can upset the Patriots at Gillette they will ascend to a whole n'other level in the media and public consciousness. They immediately put themselves in the discussion with the handful of teams people genuinely view as Super Bowl contenders, right there with the elite undefeated and one loss teams in virtually everyones power rankings.

And if the Jets lose they will be viewed pretty much the way they are viewed now, as a second tier team, wildcard contenders, but not ready to join the tier one ranks.

Come Sunday evening the consensus perception of the Jets will be one or the other.

You're certainly entitled to your opinion, but I cannot agree with the idea that a win against the Redskins is as valuable as a win against the Pats. Everyone wants to give Bowles credit for keeping an even keel, but I would've had more respect for him if he acknowledged the value of a DIVISION win on the ROAD against the SUPER-BOWL CHAMPIONS that would put us at an enviable 5-1 record. It wouldn't have to be cocky, it wouldn't have to be bulletin board material -- it simply would have been the truth, which apparently is a big no-no.

If it sounds like I'm complaining, I'm really not. Bowles can say whatever he wants, and I'll assume he's not dumb enough to actually believe it. Media and fans alike will put stock in a Jets victory Sunday, and IMO they'd be right to do so . . .

common sense tells us division wins mean more then conference wins & they mean more the non conference wins..

that not lost on us the fans so it can't be lost on NFL head coaches either..

again, i wouldn't get worked up over "coach speak.."

HOOK, LINE, and SINKER

Can't you guys ever tell when I am joking around? I was really only planning on messing with a few people instead the whole board fell for it. :pointing-smiley-emo

i fell for it also although based on past posts you really didn't have enough credit to get the benefit of the doubt.

I know it sounds like I'm getting worked up, but that's really not true.

I just hate how "common sense" loses out to PC regurgitation. If it's so obvious this game means more, why did he go out of his way to imply it doesn't? And why are we applauding him for it? Personally I would have loved a respectful, dignified response that still would have shown how much this game means to the head coach of my football team, and I have no doubt Bowles could have pulled that off. Instead I have to rationalize why it shouldn't mean more to him, even though it should, and probably does, but we have to assume, because he's not allowed to say, but if you listen to his breathing patterns you can infer . . .

I guess it's more a condemnation of society than Bowles himself - I just think it's ridiculous . . .

The Jets are not a young team they are 27 th in average age.
http://www.phillyvoice.com/ranking-nfl-teams-age/

Plus as Savage69 pointed out, yes it's true the Pats have won 3 out of the last 4 games. But only by a total of 3 Points.

Last year the Jets lost to the Pats 27-25 and 17-16. Not exactly blow outs. The Jets are clearly a much better team then they were last year. I think this game is up for grabs. http://jetsfansunited.com/forum/sho...triots-(CBS)-October25-2015?p=60159#post60159

The simple fact is, they had 3 turnovers in the 1st half of the Skins game. Does anyone think that ANY facet of our game is ready to play the Patsies? I don't. The DL did not get to Kirk Cousins often. He was under duress, but being under duress does NOT work against Brady. You must knock him down, hit him, sack him, get him off his spot, these are all things our DL was unable to do against the Skins and has not done at all this season.

The offense had 3 turnovers in the 1st half and has not had a turnover free game this season. If we turn the ball over against the Patsies? We are done.

Don't even get me started with ST. The definite down fall for this season. The offense has played way better than ST. This is a disaster waiting to happen.

No. I just cannot see how this team, as improved as they are, and as still mistake prone as they are, beat the Patsies. They might beat themselves? In fact, that might be a sure bet, but I cannot see them beating the Patsies.

BUT, if by chance, we did beat the Patsies? Can you imagine how BIG that will be for this team?

Honestly, when was the last time the Jets actually beat a team with a winning record? It's been a long time that I recall...Sometime in 2013 I believe.

Beating the Patsies not only confirms that we beat a team with a winning record, it also confirms that we beat last years SB champs.

A team that I believe will go UNDEFEATED this season.

If the Jets beat them, it would be HUGE on so many levels.
