Blockbuster possible draft trade talk rumors between Jets and Eagles

Agreed. Minor deals can happen. But this would be a blockbuster. I just don't see it.

Too much bad can happen, for either side. If Mariota becomes a stud, the Skins will get destroyed. If the Eagles give up a lot, and Mariota's a bust, the ever-so-patient Philly fans will kill the Iggles.

I think Kelly is so egotistical and thinks he will make it work it will not kill them because if it doesn't work out out its on him..HE WANTS HIM AT ALL COSTS he doesn't care if its in the division.....you haven't even heard a peep about any vote of confidence for Foles..or getting Sanchez back...

A deal for foles, 20, and next years first would be ideal. Foles is in the last year of his deal I believe, so if he flops, he walks, then You have two first rounders next year. If foles flops, our pick would be high, and with mariota starting at qb as a rookie, their pick could be somewhat high. In next years draft we have Christian hackenberg and Connor cook possibly coming out. Two guys who will be highly coveted and probably grade out better than jameis and mariota. It would be the perfect situation. Two possibly high picks to use to trade up if need be to get one of those two.

Don't like the Foles part at all

Make it the 20, a 2 this year and a 1 next year and the deal works IMO

So you'd rather have a second round pick more so than a 27 year old qb who has played well at times, better than any jet qb since chad?

Yup

Foles is damaged goods and had one good year and one half really bad year in a non NFL offense.

He is a NO WAY choice for me.

Hopefully MACC will use the one and both twos to bring in guys who can play and then uses a three or four to bring in Grayson or Petty, both of whom I'd prefer to Foles

A 60% completion for his 3 years. When have we had that?
27 TD's / 2 INT's - 2013
13 TD's / 10 INT's - 2014

So the one half "bad" year is too much for you to stomach, eh? Okay. I'm not with you on that one. I'm not sure how that trumps a pro-bowl full season.
While we can all claim QB stats might be somewhat skewed in Kelly's offense you still have to give some kudos to throwing 27/2. That's unheard of. Better than anything we've got. And what's the alternative? Hoyer? Moore?
I haven't seen much of Petty yet but was unimpressed by Grayson. I see some would take a flier on him but not me.

Sorry

Not giving away the 6 for an injured NFL QB with one relatively decent season and an injured LB who had one good season

They want to dump Foles on us

OK Separate trade even up for Geno is equal value

For Mariota they better include the 20, their second this year and their first and second in 16 as starters in the negotiations

Foles is head and shoulders above Geno and I am not talking about his height.

You want to give away the 6 pick for Foles

I don't

I think I'll let Maccagnan settle it

And who is comparing him or anyone with Geno the bust. I'm not.

31 other starters and probably 22 NFL backups are head and shoulders better than Geno the bust. We all agree he has to be replaced yesterday

There's a world of difference between trading a sixth overall straight up for Foles, and getting the #20 pick, another first, and Foles for the sixth overall.

Foles and Geno gives us a fighting chance. Especially if, hypothetically, we made this Philly trade. You're talking about restocking the roster with some high draft picks both this year and next.

I'm gonna disagree with the "Geno is the worst QB ever" hyperbole. I'd take Geno over about 6-7 starting QB's currently playing. He's shown flashes of good play. The bad always overshadows the good in some people's minds. It's polar opposite extremes. He either rules or he sucks. There's no middle ground. And therefore, you cannot have a reasonable discussion about him.

Not enough meat on the bone. We need Foles, their #20 & 2nd round pick this year, and their #1 & #3 picks next years draft.

Go Jets...Cyborg

I'm not among the Geno hyperbole. I'd take him over Mariota at this stage. At least he knows the cadence, game speed, reading defenses, etc.. And he's not shellshocked. But I wouldn't keep him and Foles. I don't think splitting reps and having someone looking over their shoulder equates to progression in a QB but that's just me. You could make arguments on both sides of that one but I personally would cut out as many distractions as possible and go with one guy with a backup that can communicate, mentor and step in when needed but understands his role. No Brunnell's, no Vick's, no Sanchez'.

Sorry.

I've watched him for 30 games now (when he wasn't benched) and seen not a speck of improvement. Still can't read defenses, throw an accurate pass or even throw it away under pressure. Still throws into triple coverage and/or runs backwards 15 yards and then gets sacked.

Time to forget the nonsense about mentors, already and just face the fact that he is a BUST. As for keeping him around for another Jamarcus Russell quality year, I respectfully vote NO.

If it's Mariota, great.

If it's Foles and picks for the pick, great

If it's a vet stopgap or Grayson or Perry, great

Just not another year of Geno the BUST please NO

IMO new OCs, mentors, etc are pipe dreams regarding Smith....he's not an NFL QB, never was and never will be.

Please god, bring in somebody who can play QB and show Geno Stiff the exit door

Gailey has a track record to prove he brings out the best a QB has to offer.
