Brady missed a wide open Gronk on that 2 Point Play

On that critical two point try Brady chose to throw back across his body into double coverage to Edelman, which was promptly tipped and picked off, but had he simply looked straight ahead into his line of sight he would have seen a wide open Gronk, and yes, this constitutes wide open in the NFL:

Thats Brady on the right hash-mark, before the rush got there, and he had Gronk DIRECTLY in his line of sight.

Thats how close the Patriots came to tying that game

How awesome is that?:global (49):

interesting how often Denver double covered Gronk. Jets have seemed to hesitate to do that.

True, but Gronk was not doubled on this critical two point try, he was in single coverage with the safety, and he had the safety beat, Brady just didn't see him or didn't get the right read, either way he missed a wide open Gronk and DID throw into double coverage with Edelman, which was tipped by the high man and intercepted by the low man.

Poor Tammy

He'll need a lot of extra hugging time with "body coach" Alejandro after this loss pretty much caused by his multiple picks

We saw aging 38+ Tammy declining dramatically before our eyes

Falling down when defenders are within 4 feet of him

Intentionally grounding the ball 6 times yesterday (none called by Ed Horses Ass and his crew)

Sanchezing the ball right to defenders

And next season the aging old Queen will be 39+

Denver really had Brady rushing and questioning every throw yesterday. A masterful job by the DC, players and the crowd. Brady's head and balls were clearly up his ass in protection mode - a site to behold!

Yep. Denver beat the crap out of Brady with a 3 or 4 man pass rush, while doubling Gronk most of the game.

That was a do or die play. I'm sure lil Bill didn't want to risk trying to go to Gronk, having 2 or 3 guys on him and Brady having to start looking for an alternate receiver when game history told them he wasn't going to have time.

I suspect that was a one read play, and Gronk wasn't the primary, Edelman was. Lil Bill miss guessed Edelman was doubled. The rest is history.

lil Bill ws out coached, and Brady got his butt kicked. Fun day indeed

It's always funny to me how teams fire coaches and hire an offensive person to take over and help the offense but it turns out that the defense is the reason the team won.

Would the result be any different with John Fox there. I doubt it. If anything, Kubiak's offense made that team worse.

Denver laid out a blue print how to beat Brady. Put him on his rear with a 4 man rush.

I'm sure Macc watched the game yesterday, and is going to take a long hard look at the edge rushers that might be available at 20.

i think there will be at least one. Depends how highly Macc thinks of him as a player, or is concerned about his off field issues as in the case with Spence.

Macc took a risk with Marshall, and it paid off in spades. Even though the Jets don't have much cap space, think it is going to be an interesting off season

That was my first reaction as well. I hate rooting for a team to beat another team when it's not the jets. I don't mind who wins. I am happy with either result.

Cam deserves to get noticed in the media/mainstream fans as a top notch qb and it would be great to see Manning go out on top.

I noticed this on the initial replay, don't get it. It was the easier read and throw

IMO it wasn't a read and react call. They didn't think they would have the time for that. It was a predetermined call.

lil Bill guessed wrong

Thats the only logical explanation, cause Gronk is directly in Brady's sight-line.

I agree. I think Brady was rattled by getting knocked down 23 times, assumed Gronk was going to be doubled.(never looked at Gronk) The one read was Edelman, and he threw it before the rush got to him.

You have to remember Brady gets rid of the ball in 2.1 seconds, fastest in the league. Frequently throws to his first read

Both he and lil Bill made a bad mistake on that play and it cost them dearly.

One of the other factors in "never dying" is getting three more free downs a half dozen times a game on bullsh*t "illegal contact" calls
