I am completely at a lose of words but it is what it is! Can't say that I like or disliked Mac. Here's the reason why and correct me if I'm wrong here:

Positives:
- He cleared the cap and got the Jets started in the right direction of going young and building through the draft.
- Cutting bait with the head cases and washed up veterans.
- He along with Gase and whomever signed the right free agents this year, or it seems as if they have.
- Over the past four years, he's drafted well with the obvious picks, rounds 1-3.

Negatives:
- Rounds 4-7, Mac has struggled with his picks for the most part.
- He didn't address the oline, WR and defensive backfield as needed this year.
- He held onto Bowles a year or two too long.

I may be missing something here but to me he's done a better then decent job. I think his positives out way his negatives. I guess he and Gase actually were having issues and those reports from a week or so ago were dead on.

Maybe all the eye jokes Mac told around the cooler got to Gase. Ray Milland JR. Bug eyes, X-ray man......might get me upset also

It didnt work in Miami. Gase should be coaching. That’s it. Let the GM handle personnel. The only way this works is if Gase gets somebody close to him and his philosophy. I hope Douglass is the right guy. I’m tired of this turnover.

Unless something happened that we don't know about. Like Gase found out Mac was using a chimp to pick his draft picks.

Speak for yourself on that!!! I'm not saying that I'm hurt here and will miss the guy but he was not as bad as you make him out to be. He helped to get the franchise started in the right direction and that's better then we can say for Idzik or Tannenbaum (or whatever his name is). Mac has his down faults but he was very good in other areas. I hope they get this right because if they don't, we will end up missing Mac GREATLY!!!

This move just doesn't make sense. Not that I'm not happy to see him go because I think Mac has done a lousy job but basically Chris Johnson gave the keys to the off season to Mac and then fired him a few weeks later. He should have been fired with Bowles. Makes us look like we're in disarray.

I disliked Mac because he rarely found talent late in the draft which is essential to success and totally overlooked the offensive line with 3 picks in 5 drafts. I'm still stinging over missing on Paradis. I also like Mosley but you don't pay that kind of money to inside linebackers. Glad he's gone but not totally confident the new guy will be any better.
