Veteran QB plan can work. But you need to sign the right guy. Think of Brees in NOLA after San Diego. Do I believe Tannehill is that guy? Not a chance in hell.

Yeah but is there a guy like Brees out there? Please don't say Carr. We both agree Tannehill ain't it. Rodgers seems disinterested in everything but psychotropic drugs, and everyone else is a risk in some form or another.

Maybe it's time to get creative and see if some deals can be made. Bears could use a WR. Elijah Moore might make a nice target for Fields. Jets were rumored to like Jenkins. Maybe a foundation for a deal exists? Worth exploring IMO.

I've said I want Carr and that is mainly because he is a huge upgrade over what we've had. I don't necessarily think he is a great QB, but I don't know if thats what we need with the defense and running game we could have next year. He looks better because his stats look great for a Jets QB, but at the end of the day he went 63-79 during the regular season and never won a playoff game. I still want him because he costs zero draft capital and if he puts up those stats with this defense the Jets are making the playoffs.

I'm leaning towards Carr myself. Rogers is clearly the best player but he has personality problems that bother me. He will be very expensive and could retire after just one season and when he's off golfing somewhere we will still be paying for him. Jimmy G is a better player than Carr. He wouldn't cost as much as Rogers. Would play all the years of his contract, If possible, and that's my problem with him. He's not shown himself to be very durable. He hasn't played a full season since when ? ? So we sign him, he plays great for 11 games, and we lose the last six games of the season, AGAIN, while our useless back up is on the field. Carr doesn't present the team with any of those drawbacks. Is he a championship game caliber QB ? Admittedly he hasn't demonstrated that to be the case so far, but, he's no slouch either and with a new team that has ample talent on an offense which should be even better this season and a defense that is unquestionably top notch and a different coaching staff, things might just turn around for him and us. Of the three he looks to be the best option at this time. I know some want to trade up and draft the new guy. That has worked out well for the Jets so far. Just saying.

I can only imagine Woody's hardship. Picking out mansion-appropriate China patterns, finding interesting variations to timeworn soirée menus for cook to prepare, pondering whether chintz is still de rigueur or an upholster faux pas, the list of challenging life decisions goes on.....

IMHO Carr is our best option with Jimmy G as our backup plan. Neither will cost us draft compensation. Aaron Rogers is a basket case and his heart is not in the game anymore.

Unfortunately you’re probably right on this. Lamar Jackson would be our outright best option but the draft capacity on that would be ridiculous and so would his contract! Maybe the Bears will want to dump off Justin Fields for a 3rd and 4th and that’s it. Wishful thinking I know, Lol!

For the first time in history we sorta agree here TCT! With Carr and his usual stats, the Jets are a 10-11 win team at the least and the Jets are a true contender in the playoffs. He isn’t my top pick but and very good one at that.

1. Lamar Jackson is #1 for me but I’m not stupid. I know that will cost the Jets a ridiculous amount in draft capital and contract money for LJ.

2. A-Rod is too unpredictable and there’s draft capital in that as well. This might smack in the face the most after he retires on us after one year. Or starts his I’d don’t know if I want to retire or not bullshit!

3. Carr is #3 and he just might be perfect for the Jets. He’ll at least get us to the playoffs consistently for a few years before we start to get tired of him.

4. Justin Fields would be my #1 actually but it would be such a blow too me for the Jets to give a ton of draft picks to the Bears, when they could/should of just drafted him outright two years ago.

5. Jimmy G is #5 for me. He is exactly what Carr would be but he can’t stay healthy! So…

I definitely don't see JD admitting that Zach was a mistake and trade for the player thats seems to still have some potential. I think we will know soon enough about Carr though.
