I'm worried about that too, very worried.
I'd love to offer a glowing report, but from what I saw he was getting pushed around.
That boy needs to put some meat on the bone.

I don't know.......maybe it hasn't dawned on us all, but maybe the Jets team just isn't that good? I know most posters are flabbergasted by the abuse our secondary took today, but maybe they just aren't that good? I have been looking at this team and thinking about 5 wins is their ceiling for months now. I said that based on a poor OL and I believe that will still be the end result but why is it so hard for anyone else to believe?
As I have been saying for a long time now, the Jets average beating ONE winning team per season, so losing to a 12-4 team makes sense. Maybe you should rethink your hopes and expectations to something more reasonable? We are rapidly finding out that Todd Bowles routinely does his part to lose games for the team. So maybe you ought to be a little more objective?

You may not have noticed but that's all I've been saying on this thread since they lost. I've also been saying it since the season ended last year and all off season. I said it during the draft the Jets should have drafted Dak Prescott but they drafted Christian Hackenberg in the second damn round. I also said the Jets should have never resigned Fitz. Even after not drafting Dak. I said they should have just let Petty, Geno and Hack fight it and may the best man win. As for Lee, he'll come around. First game for a rookie. He'll be just fine in do time.

When you miss OTA and camp what do you expect... he looked shitty in Preseason games. WE lost because ST didn't convert on 4 pts. BUT I have serious concerns 1) the secondary was atrocious - missed assignments, poor tackling, etc. , 2- Coaching - what the F happened to in game adjustments? I mean all Cincy did was take what our CB gave them and kept throwing the 3 WR screen because there was no adjustment by our CS, what am I missing?, 3- What happened to our rookie WRs? What they hell weren't they used in 5 WR sets? 4- what they hell happened to any deep ball... etc.
Couple of positives... KR was very as was punts FINALLY!, Right side of line did a lot better then I thought and actually played well in stretches, Qunicy is a player...
Don't disagree with that. AJ Green was underestimated for some insane reason today. 180 yards against anyone is ownage. Our secondary got abused. The TD bomb against Revis was bad. I don't know what Gilchrist was thinking there. He was pointing the other way, and let Green run right past him. He called it "miscommunication".
Our secondary better pull their heads outta their asses, and come out much stronger against Buffalo Thursday. If they're not playing angry, Watkins is gonna do the same thing AJ Green did today.
there are plenty of things i don't know but i feel pretty safe saying this..
bowles starting year two 0-2 (falling to 0-3 to the guy he replaced) would not be a good look..
this i do know.. it can get late pretty early in the NFL, especially in NY.....
for those who disagree, let bowles keep testing that theory & lets see how it works out for him.....

I would expect him to get fired pretty soon after that. If the Jets go 0-2, that makes him 10-8 as a HC. If he's not canned for that, then this front office is a joke.
This game is a heart breaker for sure but the positive is the fins and bills also lost there games.
Our Offense was decent but the missed FG and extra point were the difference. Revis needs help against elite WR and those adjustments should be made in future games. Forte is for real and our Offensive line looks solid.

With all the heavy QB pressure (7 sacks) and repeated pressure , our secondary should have done much better.
Marvin Lewis and company adjusted right before the half with the late drive which produced a FG. All quick throws at or behind the line of scrimmage .
I was afraid of this continuing in the 2nd half and it did.
No press coverage , to much cushion , no adjusted corner , safety , LB , no adjustments . Way to much ( read and react ).
I was pissed at Folk , I think the loss falls much harder on Kacy Rodgers and Todd ,

The missed fg, the missed extra point-Revis getting burnt-Fitz throwing off passes...
All these issues hurt but to me the point of the game that should have been taken a little more seriously was the 4rth and 1 within our 8 yard line on our second to last possesion in the 4rth quarter. Bowles should have gone for it, especially how our backs were running all over Cincys defense all day. Of course going for the easy 3 points is safer, but evidently the Bengals drove down the field and scored the winning FG with ease.
The Jets O should have gone for it and should have gone all out to score a TD alongside with the two point conversion. Dont get me wrong, i like Coach Bowles alot, but i absolutley thought that was a pussy move going for that FG on a 4rth and 1. Those are the moments where you have got to be aggressive and beat difficult teams like the Bengals. All of those previous mistakes would have been in all honesty forgiven.

Watching all these game day highlights. Seems like 1/2 a dozen teams missed fgs today
Two other pre-game observations.
1- player introductions . Bengals team comes on the field following leader carrying American flag . Nice even though the crowd booed them.
2-Jets player introduction Offense - Everyone of the players came onto the field through the tunnel carrying an American flag , nice

3- Who the hell picked the song playing before kickoff . " Welcome to the jungle " that is the Bengals official team fight song - idiots

Now I still believe that TB will put together a game Plan that will work vs the Bills. Forte & Powell should have good games if the blocking is there. I just don't like the bills as a team.
Plus the old saying which is true 95% of the time. No matter what you do in sports you win 33% of the time & you lose 33% of the time it is the other 33% of the time that makes a team a winner or a loser.....That being said football is a short (games) season so that can throw it off a little,
So bottom line LOL law of averages says we should win

bowles watched revis get torched week 17 last season (without help) by a really good WR in watkins..
yesterday, bowles watched revis get torched (again without much help, if any) by an all world WR in green..
we talked all week here about how it would be nuts to let green destroy us against single coverage..
new flash to bowles, "revis island no longer exists!!" no shame in that, this is a young man's game & revis is north of 30.. apparently bowles hasn't come to terms with it yet.. he better figure it out this week because NFL OC's & QB's have..
& to have applied all of that early pressure on dalton, only to have zero answers for cincinnati's quick hitters & freakin' bubble screens??
