He is the best QB the Jets have had since 2015. Hopefully he never sees the field, but he got the Bills to the playoffs.
Tyrod in 2017-18 would be a no brainer signing for us. Would have been a massive upgrade. But that was seven years--and 600 concussions--ago. I don't think he's the same QB now. But I will agree that he's still an upgrade now over the turds we fielded last season.
Don't like it and don't hate it. Waiting to see if something bigger is coming. Long way to go.
Smith is lucky to avg 8 games per season.

There really is little that can avoid that. The ONLY way the Jets don't have a LT with injury concerns is if Alt or Fashanu drop to them in the draft. All of the good free agent LTs have injury issues.
So, let's say you're the hypothetical Jets GM. Do you sign a RT in free agency because the ones who are available are more of a sure thing, and hope one of Alt or Fashanu falls to you in the draft? Or do you sign an injury-concern veteran LT because you know you can get a good RT at #10? I really don't know what I would do.

The Jets GM isn't hated because he has to throw a dart, he's hated because he gambles and fails too often.
Right now he is bargain shopping in the leftovers bin and acting like we have a 13 win team that was in the playoffs. There seems to be no sense of urgency or desire to try to find top talent to plug holes. I mean why haven't we restructured Mosley and others to free up cap space so we can at least attempt to get top talent??
Maybe he will fool us all and finally rebuild the starving OL and get us a true #2/#1A WR, but his track record says that a huge stretch of the imagination.
Quinton Jefferson went to the Browns. Just in case anyone is keep score. The Jets let Huff and Jefferson walk. They were #1 and #3 in sacks.
Woods will be next
