if anyone wants Geno......then speak up now or forever hold your peace. He is a classless, clueless piece of shit. He was never voted a team captain while in college- very telling when the QB is usually a leader by default. How has he shown leadership since being drafted? Movies in San Diego? He's a punk. He shouldn't be on this roster. God blessed him with physical talent, but he didn't get a lick of leadership qualities. Those talents may get him to shine a few plays but you'll never get longterm success from him. Fitz is the right guy at the right time. This team needs maturity and levelheadedness. Fitz has that in spades. He's no star, but he gives the roster the best chance to collectively succeed in 2015.

Teams 2-0. Fitz is off the best back to back games a Jets QB has had since 2008.
Smith is fit to play this week. Could you imagine what would happen. If he anointed Smith starter, and he went all Geno, Threw 3 interceptions. Fumbled twice, and the Jets lost 9-0.
We wouldn't have to worry about sharing a stadium with the Giants anymore, the mob would burn the place down.

Rewinding to training camp, When those two were facing each other in what was claimed to be a QB competition, it was GENO that was winning very clearly. As recent events have shown, that QB competition just could not have been fair and not tilted in anyone's favor.
It's obvious to anyone with two eyes, and this is what I thought all along, that Ryan Fitzpatrick was very clearly the best option for this team at QB.
Look, I'm not claiming Fitz is the answer to unlock the teams SB dreams, but I think he is the best option for RIGHT NOW. Fitz is a good stopgap capable of QBing this team until we have better options available to us. Until someone like Bryce Petty is ready to take over the reigns.
Fitz has done through 2 games what Geno has NEVER been capable of. That is protecting the football. In fact, Fitz has done a magnificent job of maximizing his own talent thus far. He's taken what the defense has been giving him and also is throwing to Brandon Marshall in double coverage. That might sound bad, but it doesn't to me. Even when Marshall has double coverage, he's still open.
In other words, he's taken the safe route. More than ever, he's protecting the football and that has automatically given us much better chances at winning. If he keeps this up, pretty soon he'll be drawing comparisons to Neil O'Donnell. O'Donnell was one of the best at protecting the football. He was never going to win the SB, but he always maximized his own talents for the benefit of the team. Fitz has been doing a lot of the same in 2015.
I 100% agree with Todd Bowles awarding the starting job to Fitz. He's earned it.
To give the job to Geno now would be upsetting team chemistry and team harmony. The chemistry is there (and there's sure to be even more as time goes on) and Geno never had built any chemistry with this compliment of players. Also, the Jets players are enjoying winning with the "good guy" QBing them. The players think Geno is a POS. Bringing him back would make the players unhappy and, thus, upset team harmony.
It's been a long time since we've seen this team firing on all cylinders and getting the most out of all 3 phases in the same game. The last time I recall it happening was around 2010. That's another good indication in favor of keeping Fitz as the starter.
With that said, Fitz has raised the stakes for himself. He MUST at least maintain this style of play. If he starts turning the ball over, he'll find himself benched in favor of Geno before he knows what happened.
