That's ridiculous. I'm sorry, but each of the last six games were must-wins, and he went 5-1.

Not to mention, he was clutch in those games. Led the team down the field and scored in the closing seconds to win at least twice. Once against the Patriots. That's ridiculous. I'm sorry, but each of the last six games were must-wins, and he went 5-1.
Yes, we hate waiting. But Fitz doesn't and shouldn't care about your patience. This is a business deal, he loses nothing by waiting and there's a chance another team will make an offer. It's win win for him to wait this out.We are not changing our offer, so I wish Fitz would just sign or walk.
On a side note, Trent Dilfer gave Hackenberg high praise. He usually rips the Jets, so that was nice to hear.
& more reps for petty.. i've heard hackenberg was practicing only with rookies & UDFAs..Yes, we hate waiting. But Fitz doesn't and shouldn't care about your patience. has anyone heard otherwise??
important training camp & preseason coming up for petty.....Geno and petty are on the first field, hack on 2nd field.
Apparently petty and hack both showed poorly. Bad footwork, accuracy, understanding.

Yes, but there's a reason people don't report mini camp, it's really nothing worth worrying about. It's just a walk through without pads. We have no idea what these guys were focusing on.important training camp & preseason coming up for petty.....

As we've discussed here constantly, and I have repeatedly said, if a team is a playoff contender, and they have a major injury in camp, which happens, Fitz would be on the short list. There is almost zero chance another team makes an offer unless someone is injured and even then those chances are remote that it would be for more money than the Jets offer. Start of TC he sign or we should move on completely.

Who knows, but it doesn't hurt Fitz to wait. The Jets haven't put a deadline on him that I'm aware of.The question would be will it be a better situation and for more money. I would say I highly doubt it.

Let's just hope Fitz is practicing with the guys now and staying in shape. I'd like to ideally maximize team reps, but the salary cap is changing the game dramatically every year.It doesn't hurt the Jets either. They know what they are willing to spend. It doesn't matter at this point of the off season.

Listen, you don't have to sell me, at best we are guessers.Even if a team suffers an injury to its starting QB, it's not a lock that they offer Fitz the kind of money he's asking for. Fitzpatrick is already well versed in Gailey's offense, and knows that Marshall and Decker boost his preformance. He also supposedly loves the NY area and has expressed a desire not to have to move the family again.
I'm going over 90% odds of him signing around training camp.

I'm just saying, there's a chance, and he could use it to negotiate a better year 2 salary or something. But, to go against myself, what team with playoff potential, and good qb,would sign Fitz for multiple years, he would only be a bandaid while the starter healed. What if geno was injured, the Jets would be forced to sign him to a better deal or forfeit the season.
But as long as the Jets don't give him a deadline, he doesn't have to sign. He's been a pro for a decade, this is his first summer with his family. Seeing pics of him on the town with his teammates helps me believe he's working with them for chemistry.
If Fitz continues just below last year's pace, he could play here for 5 years unless one of these kids actually steps up. Fitz is a good guy to have around. He's respectful, he's a leader, he had great morals, he teaches the kids to improve, he's a great spokesman for the team, he gives 100%on the field and inspires, and he put up some damn good numbers. Not to mention this team had some gutsy clutch performances to end the year.

I think you miss the point. If he slips 20% he's light years better than what geno has shown. When I say 5 years, I mean he can be a steady qb worst case scenario vs being in the shit bin for a decade like many teams.I really don't want Fitz for 5 years. In 5 years, Fitz won't be able to throw it 15 yards. You will be looking at a 40-40 record depending on the schedule. I really think last year was an aberration. He is and always has been an average QB. Without Chan and our WR's, he has a small chance to succeed. He will not and can not carry a team. We played an easy schedule last year. I want Fitz for 1 year and at most two.
