Wow, over 2800 post on that thread wanting TB back huh! Those AZ fans do want TB back and I see why, those years with the Cards there defense was outstanding. Fell off abit since he left. I'm a litte conflicted here, 75% of me says we should keep him but the other 25% says MAYBE! I say this because someone mentioned that if the Texans don't make the playoffs and they fire O'Brien, that would be a great match for Hackenburg and the past working together with Mac. That could work out great. If and only if that happens, I would definitely entertain the thought. Otherwise they should keep him. Now I will admit that there were a few weeks this year where I did think get rid of this guy with all the QB blunders, possibly losing the team and horrid defensive play but I have rethought it and changed that frame of mind. Then again, I thought of the eam getting rid of Mac and the entire CS with TB. Too soon for that, they deserved another year of two at least.

Look the Cards D was good before he came & the new guy is not that bad. I also question some of the things that TB has done & a good Dc does not say he will be a great HC.

But what I have seen of him over the years I like him. he needs time to do his thing

The teams like the Jets and Browns constantly fire their coaches and thats why they are not winners.

While I agree with the constant carousel of coaches it's also possibly they either team hadn't found a QB that's worth anything.

Bowles may be one of those guys that's a better coordinator than a head coach..

That's possible, but coaches need more than 2 years. The players on this team suck or are highly overrated with bad chemistry. Some of that falls on Bowles and some on Mac.

in a perfect jet world, where bowles is our HC next season, what changes will he make to become a legitimate HC??

if you can't name any with conviction, perhaps 2 years is enough for bowles after all??

I agree but Woody is at the top

I think it's a combination of things..... Starts with 2 positions... 1 QB and 2 CB
Fitz was not executing the offense as needed this year which we all know if you don't have a QB you don't have an offense.... This OL isn't built for ground and pound....

and Revis not shutting down anyone really kills how the scheme of the D works....

Mix it in with some learning curves from the rookies and players playing out of position and we have 4-9

Let's not overreact.... Let's hope Petty is the guy. And we can get the CB's we need... as well as correct the miscommunication on Defense... And maybe we aren't as awful as we think we are right now

Its evident that 90% of this season fell on Bowles. Heres why:

*No in game adjustments

*placing players out of position (Sheldon at MLB????!!)

*Never takes chances on 4rth down

*Does not bench veteran players who could not care less about playing, See Revis, Marshall, Fitz

*Continues to place Ryan Fitzpatrick to play in meaningless games as opposed to give Hackenberg legit snaps to learn from if Petty gets hurt.

*If his strength is being a defensive coordinator, why are teams trampling over us?

*He cannot handle a whole team. The locker room gave up on him 3-4 weeks ago. Its evident, look at the scores. We barely have beaten worse teams than us-Browns and 49ers.

I understand that a coach needs more than 2 years. But a major factor is if a team is willing to show up and run through a brick wall through those tough times.... That Jets locker room will absolutely not do that for Todd. They lost all respect for him. What would another year give him? Another 4-12 season?

Lets move on. Allow Mac to select his own Head coach through the proper interviewing process as opposed having Woody play match maker and having the media manipulating his decision.
We all know it should have been Marrone instead of this Mummy we have as HC.

todd bowles is in WAY over his head as a head coach - as are his defensive coordinator and the special team's coach. And, "they play hard for him" is in football speak - politically correct garbage.

Great points. You also forgot constant mis-communications. At this point of the season they are getting worse not better. That's on the coach/s. You also rarely see him move from his position from game start to finish. You rarely see him talking to his players on the sidelines. They just keep making the same mistakes over and over. Ground Hog day..

last season, bowles had a perfect storm of good fortune almost all season & still found himself on the outside looking in at the playoffs..

rookie HC..10 wins is nothing to sneeze at.. let's wait till he gets rid of the riffraff & brings in his own guys..

well i've seen enough to let me know this dog won't hunt..

I've read that Belichek knows & thoroughly understands the nuances & how to coach/teach(in depth & detail)every single position(in every football scenario). He stops players in hallways or parking lots and actually quizzes them. I vividly remember Parcells coaching Leon Johnson on punt returning(telling him among several things - never let a punt hit the ground(always at least fair catch - anybody watch last night?) --- teaching is one aspect that separates the good NFL coaches from inferior ones - the other significant factor for the NFL is NOT letting players get in a comfort zone --- the Jets coaching staffs flunks on both accounts!
