If our QB is Fields, I think some stuff follows from that

1. We will run the ball a bit more - including runs by the QB

2. Need to further improve the OL - esp after Moses departure. To succeed Fields will need a line that gets some push - and smart linemen who can master a scheme with run pass options etc

3. improve at TE. Need one or more TE who can be a safety blanket for Fields. A guy who he can usually go to as third option if he has to. Need TEs who can block

4. overall, design an offense based on what he does well - not try to fit him into an offense for a very different QB

Have to wonder if Jets are thinking of moving Stephens to safety. If not the thought process must be he only has 2 seasons at corner and seems to always be in the right place and with some coaching can make the jump to being very good. He was Baltimores best D back in 23 and worst last season so there's a skill set to work with.

An option at #7 could be Warren, who is a very good blocking TE and receiving threat. Young QBs best friend... That may be the second option though if neither Membou, Campbell or Graham aren't there. A lot of needs, so it will be interesting to see what else they are able to get in FA.

I like TE Warren or OT Membou at #7. This is also a very deep draft for Defensive linemen. I can see us getting a good one in Rd #2 or #3.

I agree with you but I think they could trade back a few spots and still get Warren but not Membou.
I would love to see them pick up an Xtra 2nd and/or 3rd.
The only way I would stay at 7 is if someone falls from the top 3. Hopefully it's Shedur and some team wants him badly.

Moses needed to be upgraded, the other three were just bodies who gave nothing production wise. 2 of the 3 need replacement. Won't be difficult to find upgrades

Not arguing that Moses and Thomas are average and the other two below average, but if these obvious upgrades are available why aren't the other franchises taking them instead? It's been quiet today in terms of acquisitions, the good news is that nobody has nabbed Conklin yet. Plenty of WRs there, we could even resign Mike Williams now Rodgers isn't here to argue with him.

He's also another ball hawk type like Cisco who they just agreed to terms with. If Glenn can in fact coach them up we might be happy with the outcome. Like you I have to wonder where they will play him as he has experience at both positions.

I'm good with signing Warren as long as we also fill a real need, RT, either in free agency, where there are a couple of options still available, or early in the draft.

So today's news is that the Jets have lost Brandin Echols and (surprisingly) Ashtyn Davis, while gaining a LB/DE from the Texans who is described as 'depth' by the NY Post.

Mosley is gone, unsurprising after they showed the money to Sherwood. Oliver re-signed at safety. Now we need to re-sign Conklin and sign a DT so our options aren't restricted in the draft.

Initially I was not keen on Okorafor because of what happened between him and the Pats. He played 12 snaps, was benched, and quit playing. I thought about that for awhile before I started scratching my head and then I recalled something I read at the time which made me feel a little better about the signing, a little. As I recall they were using him at LT and he was uncomfortable at that position. It seems he had always played RT and that was where he was at his best. I'm still a little concerned because his play with the Steelers was beginning to slack. Hopefully, a fresh start will get him back to the player he was with the Steelers in the beginning..........Josh Meyers signing. That is a head scratcher for me. Glenn and Mougey both praised Tippman so my guess is that he is depth that can play either center or guard.

I'm hearing that there is a lot of competition for Conklin. In my opinion he was the only reliable all purpose TE on the roster. It would be nice if we could retain him and add another as good or better. I know we have Fields' ex team mate TE on the roster but he hasn't impressed me so far.

I remember Mayo saying he stepped away to take care of some mental health issues also. It is a questionable signing, but hopefully he has his act together.
Tippmann still has some issues last season with snapping the ball. Could see either starting.
Slim pickings this Free Agency period. I'm guessing there will be some trades coming.
