Wonder if there was a similar scene in Bills locker room as when it was announced Rex would return to Jets in ‘14

Jets QB Ryan Fitzpatrick was the winner of the Gerry Eskenazi "Good Guy" Award. Voted by NY media. (Also belongs in NFL MVP conversation)

How about the craziness with Miko Grimes!? I hate the Fins, but I do feel a little sorry for their fans. The owner is clueless and they have been pretty much mediocre or worse for a decade, w/o to much hope in sight.

While most think, and rightly so, that we are the better team we also have that uncomfortable feeling this will go down to the wire as most important Jets games have. This is a division game and as Pittsburgh knows (losing to an awful Ravens team) those games are the toughest because of familiarity. I do think the Jets will win but as marac said above it will not be without a little gut wrenching sweat at the end. Hoping for a blowout...

In that first meeting the Bills were gifted 10 points. As long as the Jets win the turn over battle, it should be a "W" and finally into the playoffs.
Once in, i'm hoping to play the Bengals. Daltons hurt, their record as a playoff team and they've been leading their division soo long this year that they haven't played a pressure game. Where as, the Jets have been basically playing pressure football the past three weeks.
But first, let's get by Buffalo and earn that spot in the post season. J E T S JETS JETS JETS

I'm not even thinking about the Bengals or anyone other than the Bills. Rex is already making excuses with his "10 men down" BS. The facts are: we're going on the road, and that's never easy, especially against a division opponent. Also, Rex has been given a mulligan for this disappointing season with a guarantee of coming back. He's gonna treat this as his Super Bowl. The Jets fell flat on their faces last time against Buffalo. How much of that loss had to do with Rex's gameplanning? How much was our team just sucking that particular night?

I'm gonna BARF if we lose this game. I cannot fathom getting ousted from the playoffs by Rex Ryan. He'll be dancing all the way down the sidelines if it happens. Losing twice to the Bills would be humiliating. The Jets better be ready.

Ahhh.. Some bulletin board material!

Leodis McKelvin: "You just have to remember, Fitz will always be Fitz. He'll give you opportunities to make plays as a defense".

Hey Dummy. Did you notice that Fitz has a TD/INT ratio of 29/12?

How's Tyrod Taylor working out for ya?

Buffalo games always scare me because it's such a crap shoot.

If it does end up snowing, the running game will be crucial. That Gilleslie kid is just the kind of runner that gashes us.

Ultimately, if the Jets can control and protect the football and create some turnovers, they win decisively.

Jets win, 31-17

I hope.

The only gashing on Sunday will be the Circus Clown getting gashed by the Jets by 3 TDs +

+1

Agree with this 100%.

Rex is going to have his team pumped. Now we will see if the Jets' team has really bought into Bowles "One game at a time" mantra. That was a monster win last week. In the past, under Rex of course, the team would sag after a big emotional win.

If the Jets are for real now, they will understand that every game is a mini Super Bowl right now. Like all the match ups, but still can't help being nervous about this game.

Then again I worry about every game, I've been a Jets' fan a long time

I don't see a let down because we lost to the Bills at home when we should of won the game. Our guys are going to remember that loss and add to that they want to make the playoffs. We usually lose to Buffalo in Buffalo; how could we under estimate this game. Our guys are going to be fired up, especially the Defense. If we lose, we don't deserve to be in the playoffs. I don't see us losing unless the ball bounce their way several times early and they get the lead by a couple of scores. Not going to happen IMO. Go Jets.

Ordinarily when your season is over you are NOT risking the health of your players, especially your best players, but I'm sure Rex is so obsessed with knocking us out of the playoffs that he will be putting injured players on the field, unless they tell him they can't go, which players rarely do, especially if the coach is treating this like his Super Bowl

But we'll see, I just know Rex won't shut down his injured players for this game the way coaches ordinarily would in the last game of a losing season. If its at all possible, they're playing.
listen, the way i see it, playing injured players is a bonus for us..

if a coach insists on playing guys (health wise) that should not be on the field, one of two thing will probably happen.. maybe both..

the player/players will play tentative & blow assignments as a result or make the injury worse & have to be taken out because he/they just can't go..

bottom line, this my be ryan's "superbowl.." we need this win to insure we get a chance to win a real one!!

what trumps what??

The fact that we have been playing must win games for a few weeks now bodes well for our team. I expect it to continue well past this week and into the playoffs.

I hope I am right. Beat the Bills!

I just read that Wrecks wore a Clemson helmet to one of his pressers... not sure its true but it seems the man just doesn't learn form his mistakes. I am so glad we have adults running the organization for a change how refreshing.

BTW - While I think we will win, this will be a dog fight.

ALL TRUE and it should be suffice to guard against a letdown, unfortunately the type of letdown I fear is an "emotional letdown", and thats a lot harder to guard against because its not something you can intellectualize. You can know the stakes and respect your opponent and still have a letdown if you are emotionally spent.

All you need to do is think back to 2010. We had just beaten the Patriots in the divisional round of the playoffs, at Gillette, in a game where NOBODY was giving us a chance. The Patriots were supposed to make mincemeat of us in that game. Only a month earlier they CRUSHED US (45-3) in that building. But we went in there and shocked the world, and when it was over, Bart Scott famously quipped "CAN'T WAIT!!" about going to Pittsburgh with an opportunity to go to the Super Bowl.

Who could ever have expected a letdown in the AFC Championship Game?

THE IDEA of a letdown in the AFC Championship Game seems preposterous on its face, and yet, thats EXACTLY what happened the following week because the team was emotionally drained from beating the hated Patriots, and you can't guard against an "emotional letdown" with your head, you can't fill an empty gas tank with knowledge, the great coaches know when the tank is on E and they know how to refill it.

First they know that they MUST refill it, then they know how.

Rex just assumed the stakes would suffice, but he assumed wrong. Even afterwards he admitted that he didn't realize how much that NE game had taken out of his team, but by then it was too late. In fact they woke-up in the second half, when the reality of being down 24-3 slapped them in the face, and they tried to mount a furious comeback, shut the Steelers out in the second half, but alas it was too little too late, 24-19, and I'll go to my grave believing it was that NE game the week prior that beat us in Pittsburgh more than the Steelers.

We just couldn't match their intensity in the first half. They were at DEFCON 1 and we looked like we were sleep-walking thru the first half, no passion, no intensity, no sense of urgency, NOTHING, we had NOTHING to start that game, it was inexplicable considering the stakes, but it literally took us 30 minutes of getting kicked in the face, getting kicked from one end of Heinz field to the other, to finally WAKE UP and play like it mattered to us.

Thats what I'm fearing this week and I hope Todd Bowles is fearing it too, enough to do something about it.

Green Jets & Ham well, bowles' mantra is don't get to high after a win or to low after a loss..

that by itself should have the jets better prepared for what's at stake in buffalo sunday..

certainly more than the rollercoaster ride that is rex ryan..

someone else here posted (& i agree) the real fear is the ball bouncing funny in buffalo's favor & we go down big early..
