I am not for trading for a disgruntled player who wants out because how they utilized his skill set. instead of speaking up he is demanding out. sorry but how long until he does the same if he lands with us? he wants a ballpark figure of 5 years $140 M with $120 M gtd is what I am hearing from his inner circle, fuck no. He wants to be a receiver but wants to dictate what he is willing to do, then the team wants two premium first round picks and a player. He is good but not that good or worth that compensation.
patience is a problem because the ownership has been the ring leader of the circus that was created several years ago. we finally get a competent general manager with a focused head coach and an eager coaching staff with a plan and the idea of how to build said team but everyone bought in for year one now are back to get that, sign this guy we going to the Super Bowl, like oh my gaud, seriously?
we are in need of so many pieces throughout the roster and they are trying to build the right way by drafting, by signing low key veteran role players who will instill values for the young guys while splash signings players coming off their rookie contracts to 2 and 3 year deals that won't break the cap, smart move(s). but Rome was not built in one day and this plan takes three years to show complete success in wins with playoff potential.
could we be a playoff contender year two, yes but we don't need to be stupid in making dumb trades that could cost us. we need to be smart in the draft and fill the roles that are still open. Could we double dip a position in the draft? Yes, maybe three of them. Not WR, but DL, LB, DB all are on the table.
