Is there any chance Bowles gets fired after the season?

No in game adjustments..
Balls-less play when the game is on the line to go for it on 4rth and one...
Stubborn on not making any switches...
Locker room undisciplined...
His love affair with Fitz...
Team isnt competetive..
Team is under performing with very good talent..

Yeah, Theres an enormous chance. This isn't a knee jerk reaction by any means. The proof is there. The team just doesnt respond to this guy.
i believe that's extremely fair to say..

Somewhat agree but the reality is the Offense was not even put in a position to be successful yesterday.. Hard for guys to respond when they are handcuffed.... And the Defense as a unit gave up 9 pts... 9pts... I'll sign up for that everytime...

i completely agree the offense wasn't put in position to be successful yesterday.. if that game plan wasn't designed for petty to fail, it might as well have been.. but that's on bowles..

if gailey puts together game plans bowles is not in agreement with, then he needs to have the game plans changed to his liking.. he's the HC.. gailey answers to him, not the other way around..

& sure, a defense giving up only 9 points did their job.. but i want bowles fired based on his body of work here, not just yesterday..

No big argument here with that

Here's the complication ... I think Gailey is done here, I'd like to hire Norv turner. But if we are starting to develop petty, do we just rip his only nfl coach away from him and make him learn a new offense?
I'd love to fire Gailey and hire norv over the bye week.

I think Bowles needs to clean up the sloppy penalties, for sure.
But I wonder how much of this season really is because of shitty talent. After rex and idzik, we were a barren team. Aging vets, zero depth, zero draft picks contributing. What mac has done is incredible, but we are so far down in the hole it's going to take 4 good drafts to get out.
Which shows how lucky we were last year to be knocking on the playoffs door.

We have Leonard Williams on the line, Lee at lb, we need a shark in the secondary. And we'll have our beasts up the middle on d.
We need an entire o line overhaul, and none of those guys matter without finding a qb.

As I've watched the season go on, I have come to agree with part of your post. This season does in my opinion with a lack of talent. At least to some degree. However, there is also the DL that incredibly underperformed this season and had players that are becoming locker room distractions. There is no way any reasonable person could not see this as anyone other than Todd Bowles fault. The Jets have what is widely considered to be one of the very best DL's in the league. But under Bowles they don't show up.

So yeah, this is partly due to the talent level, but that still doesn't excuse Bowles. He's only made the situation worse............

i like turner.. no question he's a very solid OC..

but many of us here were campaigning for gailey (myself included) before he got the job.. he certainly looked like he still knew what the hell he was doing year one here.. did he forget how to coach that quickly?? or maybe bowles had more to do with yesterday's game plan than first imagined??

one of the few things i believe when bowles does his pressers is when he says he's still not in coaching for the future.. the guys trying to hold on to his gig the best way he knows how.. i get it..

but if you're a GM, wouldn't that give you some pause when it comes to a defensive minded HC, entrusted with two raw but physically gifted & bright young QB's?? can he trust that bowles will give both petty & hackenberg a real chance to be "the guy" under his watch??

if bowles is one for chasing his own "magic number" of wins per season to justify his employment, does he really have the jets best interest at heart?? i say no..

i believe/hope maccagnan takes a long hard look at his HC at season's end..

From leaked stories, Bowles gave the offense to Gailey on day one. The figured Gailey would be a crutch for the first year head coach. Gailey had done it all. I don't know if Bowles is picking the qb based on his own eyes or based on what Gailey wants. I trust Gailey to develop petty and don't get bent out of shape when they take it slow.

But Gailey is so disconnected wroth what is occurring in the field, he may very well have the whole game scripted on Saturday and doesn't deviate.
How many times do we see good QB's keep pounding the same receiver until the defense stops him. A guy gets hot,and doesn't see the ball for a quarter.

LOLz well if so, inside hand offs out of the shotgun on first must have been bolded on gailey's "script.."

that was driving me nuts, BTW.. especially since it wasn't done to set up they play action..

I do think it was a solid opportunity to be pettys first step. They can add some plays and break down film and build his confidence. He has 2 weeks of reps to see and learn from before we see him again.
