Maybe I am crazy but I have not felt this good about a TE since Mickey Shuler.
I bet you have strong feelings for another Penn State grad I hope this is not blasphemy to you. lol :waving-white-flag:
You'll find I never really talk about Penn State prospects. It is super hard to not be bias and i fight it with every ounce of my soul.

It would be like if there was a league higher than the NFL you also enjoyed and players were drafted from the NFL teams to the higher league. Initially, you'd hope Muhammad Wilkerson, Mangold, Brick, etc would be on your favorite "higher league team," and part of you does; however, you quickly realize, why would I want Wilkerson when I could have JJ Watt...
Nevertheless, it's too hard for me to be unbias. I noticed years ago you also dont notice Hobson loby too much for Michigan players on the board. There may be a few he will admit he likes in 'x' rd, but I dont remember him saying I hope we draft Lewan as an example.
Last year I did really like Allen Robinson, I can't lie, so I tried super hard not to talk about him to avoid someone saying he isn't Mike Evans, Marqise Lee, or Brandin Cook. In all honesty, I always loved him more than Lee, but I tried not to be too bias...I remember last year's class my order was something like Watkins, Evans, Moncreif, Cook, and Robinson...Robinson ahead of Lee, Benjamin, and Beckham. I still think the kid will be special, expecially since he ran his 4.40 after putting on 15lbs from his PSU weight (210)...he also grew an inch from his program height of 6'2 and just came in at 6'3 and a smidge.
Something that's interesting, and other than myself (PSU), Hobson (Michigan), Sarge (Bama), and Point (FSU), i dont know how many people watch their fav college teams weekly...but if as fans we were completely honest, when we see the players at the senior bowl or at the combine, they often look different than we saw them on Saturdays...I notices right away Robinson already started filling out in his NFL body at the combine...and we dont know how they will play at their new size/weight. It is super hard to be unbias...so i dont get too deep in my PSU feelings when talking draft...I do get in my Big 10 feelings all the time, and Im one of those fans who enjoy seeing great players in conference (Ive noticed Sarge does too, he wont let the jersey name hold him up from jumping on the board and saying "I love Mike Evans," last year as an example). Im like that too. I may hate Mich St on game day, but watching their defense the last 3 years has been a blast. I am sure Hobson would admit the way Michigan St plays D is fun except when they play you. Those guys are physical and tough as nails (like Iowa's oline)...Latimer at IU was a kid I couldnt watch enough and I am 100% sure if he stays healthy will be a
#1 ...maybe a 1B playing with Thomas.
Nevertheless, Jesse James you say?
First, again, trying not to sound super bias on my scouting report, but I will say up front I love the kid; however, my overall grade would be mid rd pick, 3 or 4, and an ideal
#2 TE to match up with an athletic
#1 TE. He is a sneaky kind of athletic. he isn't fast, that will be his biggest weakness, but an extremely hard worker and does everything well.
He's huge...not big...huge. Im telling you, the kid is sneaky athletic, holds the ball over the middle (classic safety blanket) is 6'7 265 with a 38 inch vertical...think Gronk size and athletic ability but nowhere near the speed. I think he ran a 4.89 at the combine and 4.69 at PSU. He's a very sound blocker; our oline was bad this year, he may have been our second best blocker on the line behind Donovan.
I'd love him to be Cumberland's long term replacement. NFL Comparison: Maybe a bigger Jay Riemersma.
Look at how big a target he is...oh, and watch how awesome Hackenberg (6'4 220) slings the ball. Man I hope we get him.
