You really didn't need to PROVE your reading comprehension problems - AGAIN. We got it the first time.Completely and utterly unreadable. And judging by his response it looks like I touched a nerve or two.
And notice no response regarding TWO errors about cutting contracts that don't exist (Ivory and Pace). Or is that just another measly $5mm?
The rest of his babble is incomprehensible. Kind of like listening to Professor Irwin Corey describe the infield fly rule in Farsi.
Oh yeah, one more thing, actually his original statement was that Mac would have over $50mm available AFTER (his emphasis) signing Mo and Harrison. Not even close.
From HYATT™'s most recent post;
Calvin Pace cannot be cut since he's not on contract. No savings there.
Chris Ivory cannot be cut since he's not on contract. No savings there.
OMG, got me. $3.5M out of $63M.
S'ok, the Owners just lost a lawsuit for stealing money from the players & the Court ordered the Owners to replace the money and raise the salary cap an additional $2M - to $156M this year.
Oops, that makes for an offset error of -$1.5M out of $63M. (+$61.5M)
Yes, you touched a nerve, but not the one you THINK you touched.
The nerve you touched was one HYATT™ holds precious - violating good conduct standards on this board.
There are plenty of boards to post on if flame war is what you love - this isn't one of them - or so HYATT™ continues to believe - but you'll have to ask Elias or one of the other administrators to clarify that point.
Perhaps you do not know HYATT™ very well.
That's excusable, he's not a paid bobblehead writing for some snot-rag of a publication in NYC.
What you WILL learn quite quickly HERE though, is that when you start making it personal, instead of sticking to discussing FOOTBALL - is that HYATT™ has a persistent record of filling in the holes people dig for themselves WHEN they insist on making it personal - which is exactly what you are doing by continuing to make this discussion about less than 10% - a rounding error at best - in what was never intended to be anything more than a "seat of the pants" GUESStimate in a discussion about more money than most clubs have available in TWO offseasons.
By the way, where is YOUR detailed breakout of the available offseason spending money?
Did I miss YOUR notable detailed hard work in laying out YOUR estimate that another respectable poster on this board ASKED you to put up for them?
All of this came about because McJet ASKED HYATT™ to illuminate it for HIM - not YOU.
Somehow YOU felt entitled to make it all about yourself & then had the gall to get butthurt over a post that was NEVER intended FOR you.
HYATT™ is going to suggest you ask around.
Ask some of the veteran posters here and find out why this board exists and WHY HYATT™ is posting here instead of on scout these days.
HYATT™ will even make it easy, by suggesting the right questions to ask, so you understand what YOU are headed for if you persist in making things personal and developing some sort of "gunna get that guy" mentality.
1.) Does HYATT™ have a long and established record of being mostly right about football matters in general and the Jets team in particular?
2.) Is HYATT™ known to START in with "ad hominem" personal attacks, single out other posters for ridicule, or generally start fights on the board?
3.) Are there a LOT of former posters who no longer come around as a result of being humiliated in public AFTER they decided to pick fights with HYATT™?
4.) Is HYATT™ smarter than YOU?
(HINT: Even though many find it extremely distasteful to admit there is cause for HYATT™'s level of hubris, if they are equally honest about it, they'll admit HYATT™ is smarter than anyone on this board or any other football forum they've ever posted on, AND HYATT™ does his homework - which is WHY he wins all these arguments.)
Now, HYATT™ is a forgiving type, he doesn't hold grudges.
But equally so, he will bury your fukking ass to rid himself of a minor annoyance if you insist on making it all about HIM, instead of contributing to the general welfare of the JFU forum as a RESPONSIBLE poster and Jets fan.
The next move is yours, FRIEND.
We don't have to become best buds, (though many have, even after starting off the same way you have), but we CAN behave, practice collegiality, and have good, productive, discussions - or you can turn this into a pissing match & bet on HYATT™ ending up the one tossed for bad behavior.
In which case HYATT™ will say in advance;
"Good riddance. We hardly knew ya, Mr. Ad Hominem."
