Jets' dream offseason - TOJ

HYATT™

Pro Bowl 1st Team
Jet Fanatics
Completely and utterly unreadable. And judging by his response it looks like I touched a nerve or two.

And notice no response regarding TWO errors about cutting contracts that don't exist (Ivory and Pace). Or is that just another measly $5mm?

The rest of his babble is incomprehensible. Kind of like listening to Professor Irwin Corey describe the infield fly rule in Farsi.

Oh yeah, one more thing, actually his original statement was that Mac would have over $50mm available AFTER (his emphasis) signing Mo and Harrison. Not even close.
You really didn't need to PROVE your reading comprehension problems - AGAIN. We got it the first time.
From HYATT™'s most recent post;

Calvin Pace cannot be cut since he's not on contract. No savings there.
Chris Ivory cannot be cut since he's not on contract. No savings there.

OMG, got me. $3.5M out of $63M.
S'ok, the Owners just lost a lawsuit for stealing money from the players & the Court ordered the Owners to replace the money and raise the salary cap an additional $2M - to $156M this year.
Oops, that makes for an offset error of -$1.5M out of $63M. (+$61.5M)

Yes, you touched a nerve, but not the one you THINK you touched.
The nerve you touched was one HYATT™ holds precious - violating good conduct standards on this board.
There are plenty of boards to post on if flame war is what you love - this isn't one of them - or so HYATT™ continues to believe - but you'll have to ask Elias or one of the other administrators to clarify that point.

Perhaps you do not know HYATT™ very well.
That's excusable, he's not a paid bobblehead writing for some snot-rag of a publication in NYC.
What you WILL learn quite quickly HERE though, is that when you start making it personal, instead of sticking to discussing FOOTBALL - is that HYATT™ has a persistent record of filling in the holes people dig for themselves WHEN they insist on making it personal - which is exactly what you are doing by continuing to make this discussion about less than 10% - a rounding error at best - in what was never intended to be anything more than a "seat of the pants" GUESStimate in a discussion about more money than most clubs have available in TWO offseasons.

By the way, where is YOUR detailed breakout of the available offseason spending money?
Did I miss YOUR notable detailed hard work in laying out YOUR estimate that another respectable poster on this board ASKED you to put up for them?
All of this came about because McJet ASKED HYATT™ to illuminate it for HIM - not YOU.
Somehow YOU felt entitled to make it all about yourself & then had the gall to get butthurt over a post that was NEVER intended FOR you.

HYATT™ is going to suggest you ask around.
Ask some of the veteran posters here and find out why this board exists and WHY HYATT™ is posting here instead of on scout these days.
HYATT™ will even make it easy, by suggesting the right questions to ask, so you understand what YOU are headed for if you persist in making things personal and developing some sort of "gunna get that guy" mentality.

1.) Does HYATT™ have a long and established record of being mostly right about football matters in general and the Jets team in particular?
2.) Is HYATT™ known to START in with "ad hominem" personal attacks, single out other posters for ridicule, or generally start fights on the board?
3.) Are there a LOT of former posters who no longer come around as a result of being humiliated in public AFTER they decided to pick fights with HYATT™?
4.) Is HYATT™ smarter than YOU?

(HINT: Even though many find it extremely distasteful to admit there is cause for HYATT™'s level of hubris, if they are equally honest about it, they'll admit HYATT™ is smarter than anyone on this board or any other football forum they've ever posted on, AND HYATT™ does his homework - which is WHY he wins all these arguments.)

Now, HYATT™ is a forgiving type, he doesn't hold grudges.
But equally so, he will bury your fukking ass to rid himself of a minor annoyance if you insist on making it all about HIM, instead of contributing to the general welfare of the JFU forum as a RESPONSIBLE poster and Jets fan.

The next move is yours, FRIEND.
We don't have to become best buds, (though many have, even after starting off the same way you have), but we CAN behave, practice collegiality, and have good, productive, discussions - or you can turn this into a pissing match & bet on HYATT™ ending up the one tossed for bad behavior.
In which case HYATT™ will say in advance;
"Good riddance. We hardly knew ya, Mr. Ad Hominem."

HYATT™ takes some getting used to....that may be an understatement, but, he knows his football.
is he longwinded?-yes
can he be annoying? yes
is he a smart ass? yes
is he boastful? Hell yes
is he knowledgeable about all things great and small about football? absolutely
is he helpful to fellow posters?-yes( I've pm'd in the past to help me with posting a pix, inserting links-the old scout board was archaic).
is he funny? I think so, read the little things here and there.

I'm not trying to stick up for him, God knows he doesn't need any help from me, I'm just giving my pov of the guy.

Both Cimini and Slater had small articles about his being MIA, while Sudfeld has been here. I later read a small bit that he was in the building for a mandatory physical, and disappeared again.

In all honesty I have no idea what is going on, but something is. Whether it can be resolved or not, I also have no idea.

Before his injury, Amaro was carried as the last TE on the depth chart. That was behind guys like Kellen Davis.Last season Amaro said he is one of the best receiving TE's in football and has no real desire to block. Don't think that is going to bode well with Bowles. We'll see how it all plays out. But if the story's are true, I could definitely see him being moved

WHAT?! You mean the same Amaro that before he even played a down of football claimed he'd catch 100 balls in his rookie season? Then he proceeded to actually catch 38 balls, almost 2/3 less, and dropped more than what he caught?

Now you're telling me he's been nursing his injury without any oversight by the Jets organization?

Now this creep claims he doesn't have to block? Like somehow he's above it?

You can't be telling the truth about this?

Another great example of your good behavior and collegiality that pretty much chased away hundreds of former Jets Insider orphans from your home at Scout to Jets Nation and TGG and led, thankfully to Elias, renegade and a few others spending considerable time, effort and cash to create this best of all possible alternatives

Taking the time to bring up conduct unbecoming is hardly in the same class as comments disparaging a particular poster. LGM, something you might take notice of yourself.
You don't exactly have clean hands on the subject lately.

While we are on the subject, please can your continual observations and opinions on your personal definition of what is or is not proper message board behavior for Jets Fans United. To my knowledge you are NOT a moderator or administrator at this forum and I believe those that have such responsibility are fully capable of handling all duties required

Why?
So those who want to act like trolls can continue to run roughshod here?
There's a very good reason why HYATT™ takes exception to poor behavior.
It ends up turning forums INTO Jets Insider and the resulting taken-over board at scout.
If posters can't police their own forum, they deserve to have a shitty place to post.
Call it doing HYATT™'s civic duty.
Scout USED to have an average of 150-300 posters per day looking in.
Now, they have 24 online & HYATT™ is in no way responsible for running off 20,000 JI members, is he?
No, Sooth and his ill-mannered bunch managed that quite well, all on their own
Is that what YOU want JFU to become?

Just so you aren't under the mistaken impression that HYATT™ has no idea how to moderate a board, he's been an administrator on 3 forums & a moderator on several more, in his 2 decades online.
Most were quite successful during HYATT™ tenure on them.
When this board and it's immediate predecessor were started, HYATT™ was asked if he was interested in being a moderator or admin, which he politely turned down even though he was honored that the admins here & there felt comfortable enough to ask.

STILL doesn't relieve all of us of the responsibility to act properly and police bad behavior when we see it - and trust these words;
Yer damn LUCKY HYATT™ is NOT an administrator or moderator here.
HYATT™ is FAR less forgiving than Elias & Co.

Thanks Wicker. To me his kind of behavior is not something I will ever acquire a test for. He gets bent out of shape when anyone dares question his 'analysis'. He seems to think that responding to one of his posts with...

<sigh>
Aight, one MORE time.
Pay attention as HYATT™ gets out his finger paints.

(Rounding in effect, for convenience.)

Is perfectly warranted.

Or...Hope you caught up now.

Or how about...

HYATT™ for taking time to break all of this down?
...hey'll admit HYATT™ is smarter than anyone on this board or any other football forum they've ever posted on,

Sorry but exaggerating his sense of self-importance and expecting to be recognized as superior even without achievements that warrant it is just not acceptable behavior.

Hehehehe, 2 points Wicker was trying to help you unnerstand.

1.) HYATT™ - by virtue of many and deeply researched posts over the past 8 or 9 seasons on scout's and now this Jets fan boards - HAS warranted that sense of self-respect & garnered it from others.
2.) Never has HYATT™ claimed to be IMPORTANT - though viewership numbers have tended to support that hypothesis.
There are notable differences in numbers of posters frequenting boards when HYATT™ is actively posting vs periods when he is not.
Mostly, HYATT™ believes they show up to watch the fireworks when people like you and LGM get into pissing matches with HYATT™ - but he could be wrong.
They MIGHT actually be showing up to read some of the stuff HYATT™'s research turns up.

Because you are unfamiliar with the interweebz construct labeled HYATT™, you miss half the fun.
It's an ACT, it's intended to be - albeit a bit sarcastic at times - FUN, and hopefully even funny at times.
This isn't War & Peace or a world summit, it's just silly football, ffs.
Stop taking it so seriously and definitely stop getting all bent out of shape over teeny little wot-nots.

Getting a little warm in here for you?
Just remember, it wasn't HYATT™ who started posting snippy little comments about "unreadable" or making silly comments about HYATT™'s other favorite team, the Packers, having a shitty secondary, when that is patently FALSE.

HYATT did not drive anyone away from scout, as was mentioned before, yer good buddy Sooth did that just fine all by hisself.
Scout viewership numbers ROSE when HYATT™ became active there in 2008, and remained fairly high throughout his time on that board until the JI crowd showed up and tanked the board.

The longer you keep this up, the deeper the hole you dig is getting.
Jist sayin, FRIEND. :18_g:

Thanks for illustrating HYATT™'s point so brilliantly.
It's EXACTLY those sorts of snotty little tantrums that end up creating the hostile atmosphere that the JI-invaded board became after the merger.

IF, and HYATT™ posts this STRICTLY for further illumination - IF HYATT™ were to ask if you and LGM want to be buried in the same hole or separately, that would only further the hostility.
So HYATT™ won't - even though the point got made in using the example anyway.

Putting this pompous NFL/Packer/JETS fan jackass on ignore.

Only solution
Just a small correction, in the interests of TRUTH.
It's not the ONLY solution either.
You COULD start acting like a civilized poster and stop with the personal insults stuff.
That seems to work even better for many here.

Better class of fans on this board - in large part because it was started to give the better class of Jets fans an alternative board to work on.
Many thanks to the administrators and moderators who've stayed consistent to that ideal.

HYATT, i've been posting on jet boards for more than 10 years & JFU is my favorite.. has been for awhile now.. after the continued hacking i was becoming concerned this place might be done or at least as we know it.. but E & his team were hearing none of that & i give my continued thanks as well..

truth be told, if JFU didn't come back, i was giving real consideration to not posting on jet boards anymore.. maybe not completely but definitely not at the volume level i post here.. not to take shots at other jet boards but sometimes bigger isn't better.. & being a "member" of a forum is not the same as being a part of it's community..

anyway, as our small but very active community continues to grow (& it will, BTW) Elias & his team's challenge will be not letting a handful of future posters ruin the culture that we have reestablished & maintained here at JFU..

but like our team, I believe our board is in great hands as well..
we have an ideal situation here at JFU guys..

i sincerely hope we all recognize it as such.....
