I dont think there is anyway news here. Its Geno's job unless he bombs in the preseason, but he is the #1 QB and will have all #1 QB reps unless he falls on his face. Chan and Bowles honestly said the same thing differently...

if another QB "takes" the starting job that doesn't mean smith "bombed.." it means some QB outplayed smith enough to bowles liking that the starting job would be theirs..

at least that's what i took from it..

pretty convoluted stuff for two guys to be on the same page but not the end of the world either..

So now, I guess we should all go crazy ONLY about Wednesday OTA two hand touch practices with no contact and not any of the others because the media jackasses are only allowed to see that one.

Time to focus on other stuff in the process of evaluation like what the coaches say and do until July when real preparation for the season begins

yup, that was the way i read it all along.

people will read what they want to read out of the comments from gailey and bowles, but it always seemed to me that geno enters camp as #1 , but is not being "given" the job. he will have to earn it in camp and pre-season, but enters atop the depth chart to start.

Nice picture of chan yelling at Sudfeld. Having attended HYATTs school of lip reading, I can tell from that snap shot Gaily told Sudfeld there, " I've heard of looks like Tarzan and plays like Jane, but not until today have I been on a football field with a player who looks and plays like Jane."

I'll forever hate Sudfeld (football hate, not real hate) after he lost that jump-ball at the goal-line in Green Bay last year, stood there like a 6' 7" Wooden Indian and just watched this little DB go up and intercept the ball right before the half, which completely changed the momentum of that game when we were shockingly blowing the Packers out of the building.

If the big doofus just knocks it down we go into the half with a 24 point lead, all of the MO, and probably start the season 2-0 with Geno getting off to a great start. After GB came back and won that game, it sucked the life out of this team, and I blame that big doofus for the retched season that followed.
