Kap in (on a new deal), Geno out? I'm good with that. I think Chan could work something out with him. Let him and Fitz complete, best man wins, next best backs him up. Petty gets to continue to develop for another year without being a Fitz non-slide away from being thrown into the fire.

Probably not happening, Fitz is gonna want something resembling an established starter's money, and rightfully so, and whatever Kap re-signs for, assuming that's what happens (SF had am out, right?) it's not going to be backup money.

Only way it happens is if Geno gets cut and the Jets don't draft a QB this draft. Fitz will be back, as will Petty. I don't see the team carrying four QBs.

Your right it's probably not happening. Kap is due to make $11.9 M if he's traded for. If he's a FA some body is going to pay him. At this point in his career Kap is an unknown. Might as well go with the unknowns we already have.

This is probably leaked by Kap's agent to Mehta with a purpose.

My advise? Macc stay on the trail your on. Don't get distracted by shiny things on the side of the road

In my eyes, Geno is a 'known' - a known infant, a known out decision-maker, a known drama queen. Petty is the only unknown.

I think we would consider going after Kap "only" if he was released and if Fitz's demands were too outrageous. However, I still think Fitz wants to stay here for a number of reasons (talent, synergy with Marshall and Decker and the OC) so I think his demands will be reasonable. Plus he's already made a boat load on money.

Don't see any way the Jets are going to trade for Kap.

Where this affects the Jets IMO is that I was hoping they would be able to get a 5th for smith. Now with RGIII, Johnny Football, and Kap all more then likely being available, it is going to put a real smack on any value smith might have.

i think with Kap's entering the the possible market, the rocks are out. Think we are down to bio-degradable s.
