Oh, I absolutely agree. The accountability is not there, and it needs to be.

That said, I still believe Bowles would get torched by fans if he took a harder line and it cost the team.
cost the team what?? the only thing getting 5 or 6 wins instead of 3 or 4 costs us is potentially missing out on a franchise QB in next year's draft..

I, for one, would applaud the move. I think most serious fans would as well. Shenanigans like his cannot be tolerated. It spreads to the entire team as it did last year. If the remaining players played hard and as a team, it would be a net long-term gain.

Not the Lee part. You posited your political opinions as fact.

You went on a several paragraph rant based on you presuming I was talking about Lee when I said you posited opinion as fact. I wasn't. I was talking about your political views.

As I understand it, there is a place here at JFU to discuss politics, for those who somehow feel enriched engaging in political discourse with people who share a rooting interest in the NFL.

So then shut up and stop mentioning what is clearly a sore subject for some here.

I agree, a win would hardly help. But I think there are still some who would hold it against him.

Come on MJ. The point of his forum is to encourage back and forth discussion. Telling someone to shut up is unacceptable.

Sack is nothing but a class act and I know you can be as well. ive been busy lately so I have neglected keeping order but this stuck out like a sore thumb. I am asking for some civility, hopefully you can honor that. We are all grown and can have a debate without being rude to each other.

Please view this as a warning. These type of comments are unacceptable.

On GMFB, Chad Pennington came out and gave Bowles a very solid endorsement. Essentially, he said that Bowles is the right man to turn this around. Chad said he was with Bowles twice in his career and thinks he is an excellent coach. He doesn't think he should lose his job after this season because they don't have the players to contend. I think everyone on this Board respects Chad and his opinions, I know I do.

Again, I'm not saying Bowles is going to turn out to be a great coach or even a good one, I just believe he deserves a fair shot to put his program in place, which means two more seasons. I stand by that. Unless you can get Harbaugh (which won't happen), going to get another coordinator and rebuild the entire coaching staff, put new schemes in place, etc. makes little sense, especially with such a young team. I understand everyone's frustrations with Bowles, but he should get more time to build his program. I think Chad is right..

The team is light on talent so Bowles does not need to win to keep his job. What I need to see is improvement in all his weak areas. He needs a tight handle on the Locke room. He need to get involved on the offensive side of the ball and coach the whole team.. He needs to show improvement in game situations and time management. If he does those things I can live with him coaching the team.

Nick I agree 100%. I think you hit the nail on the head. If he can make those changes and grow into the role of a HC in the ways you described, I am fine with him coaching this team. I do like the staff he put together. I think they have some intensity and have been around some really good coaches over the years. Not a fan of our Defensive Coordinator, but I think the problems on defense last year occurred for a lot of reasons,
