Interesting who did a good part of the damage in this 12-1 thumping by the FIRST PLACE METS OF NY TOWN.....
Conforto
Cespedes
Johnson
Peeps who weren't here three weeks ago
Don't want to get too far ahead of myself BUT if Bart can put together a run of starts like this, we could run away with this division
The only thing that worries me during this pennant chase is experience. Mets young pitching staff plus Flores and Tejada have never experienced this type of pressure. Getting Uribe, Cespedes and Johnson is big in having experience. Hopefully, Colon and Clippard can keep the pitchers loose.
Unless 99 MPH heat > Experience. :smiley-dance006:
Why not us?I was about to say something like -- we are only a game up, just took over first place yesterday. But, then I am the guy who posted about the magic number.
You want to say we are going to run away with the Division, go for it.
The young guns didn't seem to have a problem with the 3 game set against Washington, so I think they will be fine. No matter how the season plays out, it will only help in the long run to have these guys play in big spots in August and September.
Why not us?
Take a good look at the remaining schedule. The Mets sked is at least 4 games easier than the Nats who still have to face St Louis, LA and SF
Yeah, playing at home in front of 35k adrenaline pumping fans helps... going to St. Louis, Pitt, LA or or SF might be different come October. We play 3 @ Nats in early Sept. Will be fun to see how the young guys fare.
Now we are winning games on late rallies with big hits from Juan Lagares and Eric Campbell?
Pinch me...
