Lets break out the brooms this afternoon. Thor needs to rebound from a poor outing.
A question for the board... Does anyone know how long before the big 4 pitchers hit UFA?
Harvey, DeGrom, Syndergard and Matz.
I've tried several sports websites and Google and can't find it.
Just wondering how long we can keep these guys under reasonable contracts for.

I believe. Harvey is under contract through the end of 2017 season, deGrom through 2018 and Thor through 2019.
So if we can extend Harvey at the end of 2016, DeGrom 2017 and Thor 2018 we can try and keep these guys together and off the market. I wonder where Mats stands contract wise.
I hope none of them has Boras as an agent.
Payroll will be going up after the end of next season. We need to get Herreira, Cecchini, Smith, Pawlecki and Nimo up here over the next couple of years. That will help keep the payroll low on positional players and loaded with top level pitching for 5-10 years.

I think Matz is the same as Syndergaard, through the 2019 season.
Harvey is a Boras client. He's going to free agency after 2017.

Maybe we can extend one or more of them now since, after we win the World Series this year and in 2016, their price is sure to climb [emoji2]
While on the subject, what is the deal with Cespedes as to whether we can sign a deal for 2016?
If so do you trade him next year and try and get another young gun to replace him in a couple of years?
Personally, I do everything I can to lock him up before FA. Maybe getting his money earlier would be motivation.
The one good thing about the TJ surgery is he most likely won't have that problem again.
The arm is much stronger after that procedure.
The other question facing the Mets is what to do about Murphy's pending FA? He's a baller, especially with Cespedes behind him and Curtis in front. It would be nice to keep him. Duda also a FA... who do you keep? I'd probably give up the 2 of them if we can sign Cespedes.

New high water mark...previous was 10 over, back in April at 13-3.
