Unless things start taking a drastic turn for the better with these free agents, and as we've discussed ad nauseam, the free agents worth signing to big deals are dwindling by the minute, then it probably behooves us to pick up Harvin's 10 million dollar option and toss his speed into the slot.
By now everyone should be aware of the fact that we cannot do what Idzik did last year and essentially sit on our cap space. By league rules we are mandated to spend a significant amount of that money this year, so we have to spend it on someone, otherwise its confiscated by the league and we have nothing to show for it.
That said, if free agency keeps going the way its going now, might as well get to work on extending Wilkerson, maybe extend Sheldon a year early too since we have the money to do it, then pick-up Harvin's option and lets go into battle with the trio of Marshall & Decker outside, and Harvin in the slot.
