He has no trade value anymore(Due to what he wants) they should have dumped him last season. Hopefully they can deal him draft day if not they are screwed..
The Jets hold all the cards here, and that probably frustrates Mo. They don't need to rush a deal. If someone offers market value, you deal him. If they don't, you have another one of Wilkerson's prime years in the books. If they lose him as a FA, they get 3rd round compensation the following year.

Totally agree, but if macc if throwing hypothetical trades at teams, and they hear he's holding out, it means we are much less likely to get as good compensation.

True, but Maccagnan shouldn't let Wilkerson's agent dictate the terms. Ideally, you deal Mo for a first round pick. But if we keep him for the 2016 season, that isn't a complete loss. He gives us a dominant defense with a chance to contend for a deep playoff run.
If we deal him, we open up cap space and get a high draft pick.
I don't think we'll end up with egg on our face, regardless. Macc seems like a practical GM. He's not going to get screwed here.
We're not talking about the agent dictating. We're talking about weakening your bargaining position. No trade happens without Mos approval. He needs to agree to an extension if you want anything more than a 6th rounder.

Understood. I don't think it's any surprise that Mo is making public statements about wanting to go to SF. He's got to agree to any deal. That's why I think a deal with Cleveland is unlikely.

Mo annoys me more than Revis. At least Revis was a game changer. Mo is NOT!! He wants out and I want him gone. Get what we can for him and get rid of his salary that he is not worth.
