Totally agree, but if macc if throwing hypothetical trades at teams, and they hear he's holding out, it means we are much less likely to get as good compensation. The Jets hold all the cards here, and that probably frustrates Mo. They don't need to rush a deal. If someone offers market value, you deal him. If they don't, you have another one of Wilkerson's prime years in the books. If they lose him as a FA, they get 3rd round compensation the following year.
This situation isn't as dire as its being made out to be.
Skipping the off season program vs rehabbing on his own are competed different.isn't he recupperating his broken leg. how much work would he be able to do that he can't do elsewhere? I'm sure he will show up for treatments

We're not talking about the agent dictating. We're talking about weakening your bargaining position. No trade happens without Mos approval. He needs to agree to an extension if you want anything more than a 6th rounder.True, but Maccagnan shouldn't let Wilkerson's agent dictate the terms. Ideally, you deal Mo for a first round pick. But if we keep him for the 2016 season, that isn't a complete loss. He gives us a dominant defense with a chance to contend for a deep playoff run.
If we deal him, we open up cap space and get a high draft pick.
I don't think we'll end up with egg on our face, regardless. Macc seems like a practical GM. He's not going to get screwed here.

not sure if team wilkerson ever thought signing for less than a bazillion dollars wasn't the game plan..It's a shame we never worked out a long term deal earlier. Time to part ways obvi. 2/3 or 2/4 is what I'm guessing we get.
Good, let some idiot team pay him 20 mil a year for 6 years when he's 2.5 years away from 30.not sure if team wilkerson ever thought signing for less than a bazillion dollars wasn't the game plan..
