Round 1: (No. 20 overall) Darron Lee, OLB, -
Round 2: (51) Christian Hackenberg, QB, 0 games.
Round 3: (83) Jordan Jenkins, OLB, 14 games/11 starts.
Round 4: (118) Juston Burris, CB, 16 games/1 start.
Round 5: (158) Brandon Shell, OT, 8 games/3 starts.
Round 7: (235) Lac Edwards, P, 16 games/0 starts; (241) Charone Peake, WR, 15 games/1 start.
Notable undrafted free agents: Robby Anderson, WR, 16 games/8 starts; Jalin Marshall, WR, 10 games/1 start.

I honestly feel this draft class will be our bread and butter in the years to come.
Lee will take over David Harris as 52 will be let go. Major youth movement up coming and we will judge these kids the proper way.
Jordan Jenkins being ranked 2nd best rookie OLB was pleasantly surprising. Burris has some very good potential that i feel can turn into our starting CB. Brandon Shell turned into a stud and held his own. I thought he was going to be a bust after the last pre season game he got Petty demolished.
Lachlan looks the part as a long term solution at Punter.

Young WRS such as Charone Peake, Anderson and Marshall are exactly what this franchise needed. They need to evolve together. Will be interesting how our new OC,Morton , who specializes in WRs utilizes these young pups.

And last but not least, Christian Hackenberg. I love the fact that reporters, a possible individual who knew he was going to get fired from the team speak nonsense regarding this kid. Fabricating total garbage degrading the young mans skills.

No one knew the progressions Hack was making or the regressions for that matter than Mac and Bowles. They have a plan for this kid and they're sticking with it. It evident that they both saw something special in him to select him that high. Rumors can fly all they want, but i doubt they would give up on him this easily as some reports attest to.

Just my opinion, after all the things i read about Christian pre draft is that he is a fierce competitor. Student of the game. I'am more than sure he isnt your typical party animal 21 year old. He wants what Brady has become. All odds against him and has an enormous chip on his shoulder to prove the doubters wrong.

Mac needs to surround him in an atmosphere where Hack can grow the right way;
*shore up the O-Line
*Get him play makers
Allow him to learn from his mistakes.

Then and only then can we judge this 2nd round pick accordingly.

Let's say Lee and Jenkins end up as long-term starters at LB, Shell starts at RT for years to come, and you have both a starting WR and a slot man in Anderson and Peake. Plus you have Edwards holding down the P job for the foreseeable future. If all that happened, it would be extremely tough for even the biggest Jets hater to give this draft a C-, regardless of what happens with Hack. If you get four starters, a specialist position, and a #3 WR out of one draft, you consider yourself lucky.

We got some potentially super solid depth in last year's draft.

I agree! You know it is not just our beat writers it is the national media also.....everyone loves to pick on the Jets. I can be watching any two teams play on a Sunday & I often hear bad things about the jets......besides the score

Jets give them lots of ammunition. Its been an awful organization for most of its life.

Not since Kotite has it been awful. It has been average, at worst, based on overall record, playoff appearances, etc. Now, of late, you can point to only two division titles in that 20 years, but that also has something to do with the Evil Empire of Foxborough being in the division.

The Jets have not had consecutive losing seasons since Rich Kotite was HC.

it's always been fashionable to lump the jets in with the worst organizations in sports.. we all know that..

the jets didn't do themselves any favors by sleeping on the giants couch in NJ all those years.. then when they finally had a chance to come back home, they end up moving right back in with their big brother again..

I blame the Jets for the years when the team was in a landlord/tenant situation. But I don't necessarily blame them for the current stadium deal.

For one, they tried to land a new site for a stadium, only to have a couple career politicians get in the way. But they also maximized resources by building the shared stadium, and entered into a true shared situation. If anything, it was a wise allocation of resources. The only people who sincerely analogize MetLife with the old stadium situation are people who want to find a reason to bash the Jets. It's always chic to bash the Jets.

Gotta disagree Sack. It's like living in your brother-in-law's basement, then building a house in the backyard, calling it both of yours and paid for by friends of yours (through PSL's).

Perhaps the similar general shape of the two parks give me that feeling, maybe a pre-determined prejudice because I loved going to games at Shea so much more or perhaps it is the natural homing instinct in all of us. The other issue is New Jersey. Good for some but not many of us, and as far as I am concerned, just not worthy of the name New York (apologies to Jerseyites). They did try to build in the right place though. Too bad it did not work out. Win more than the Giants consistently, and most of the criticism for this goes away and it becomes more of a Jets house.

the dolan's were not hearing about the west side stadium but that meant we couldn't move back to queens or LI??

sharing two buildings out of state with your much more successful/respected big brother is not the way to get out of his shadow..

as far as a billionaires splitting the bill on a drab rectangle in east rutherford, what benefit did we gain from that?? PSLs?? a break on the price on parking & concessions??

Long Island refused to upgrade the islanders who are now in Brooklyn. This is a silly discussion. The Jets paid for half of a stadium, that was a good investment. Winning is what will stop the little brother association.

Don't forget Burris. I think he'll have an even bigger role next year. Maybe as the nickel back? Personally, I hope he ends up starting. Skrine should move to the nickel. Revis as safety

I would have been fine with a stadium in Queens, near the new Citi Field, but that never materialized.

That said, a lot of owners, especially when they are receiving tax breaks and public funding, get slammed for building new stadiums. That the Jets and Giants consolidated their resources isn't the worst thing in the world, considering that climate.

oh for ****'s sake mykcuz, we've gotten to 4 AFCCGs in just under 50 years & got smoked in arguably every one of them..

i'm tired of hearing we need to be endlessly patient with this franchise.. flashes of competence followed by the inevitable mediocre/lousy football is inexcusable for a team playing in the country's biggest market with revenue sharing..

don't know how all you are but by the time the jets get out from under this deal with the giants, i'll be too old to give a shit about where they play..

So what's your position? That paying an extra 700 million to have our own stadium in Queens would lead to us winning? Or that losing is ok as long as its not in met life stadium?

My only point is that the stadium isn't the problem. The only thing that will change the little brother moniker is winning. Do you disagree?

well i would have been thrilled!!

BTW, this is the 2nd time you told me of the financial benefits for the jets staying in NJ splitting rent with the giants..

hey, great for the billionaires..

but again, what has our fan base gotten out of it??

I'm in nj about 10 minutes from the stadium, so I'm thrilled I don't have to spend $100 on tolls and parking and 3 hours of driving to see a game in the city. Of course, those in ny feel differently.

When the Jets were looking to move, the west side rail yard was the only realistic ny destination that I recall, and nyc refused. So what can you do?

Long Island doesn't want a stadium and didn't care about losing the islanders who are now in Brooklyn. My understanding is that attendance in Brooklyn is poor for the nets and islanders.

Im not aware of any space in Queens that was realistic.

So it seems the west side rail yard was the only real alternative and the locals were completely against it.

LOLz how the hell could i not?? :)

but we haven't, so at this point, that's moot..

& yes, i would have absolutely taken an extra level of pride in the jets being back in NY in their own building..

i know i'm not alone in that..

That's perfectly fine, but what does any of this have to do with wins and losses. I dont think the players care about sharing a stadium.

I wonder if belichick stayed the coach of the Jets, but didn't have Brady, would it have mattered?

Would a stadium in Queens or on LI been more convenient for you?
