Official DAY 2 Draft Trackers and Discussion Thread

When he had Robinson and an OL and O’Brien he was great. Jets have great WR’s and decent OL.

"Great" may be embellishing just a tad. Less than 3,000 yards and 58.9% completion isn't exactly lighting it up, especially throwing to a talent like Allen Robinson.

Btw, this past year his completion % was 53.3. Pathetic for the college game. And it won't get easier in the NFL with tighter windows.

Guys, if you think about it even for a second, we HAD to draft a QB. Fitz is far from being signed, Petty is an unknown at best, and Geno....well, we all know how that one looks like.
We ARE desperate at the most important position in football.

Petty came from a spread offense and Hack has experience under center and in pro style offense. I don't hate the pick because we have to find a QB.

I don't like this Hackenburg pick AT ALL but I'll trust in TB and Mac. Don't like his measurable either. The kid has 9" hands and with the cold, slick, windy, rainy and snowy NY-NJ weather, will he be able to hold onto to the ball and throw accurate passes? I hope he can and hope he prove me wrong. I'm personally pulling for Petty to come out on top here but won't be mad if Hackenburg does.

One more point on Hackenberg. Where did Maccagnan come from? Houston. In 2014, Maccagnan was in the front office as coordinator of college scouting while Bill O'Brien was on the sidelines. I would venture to say they discussed Hackenberg at length, since O'Brien had just come from PSU where he had recruited and coached Hackenberg.

From what I hear on a 70 deg day & no wind will he be able to throw the ball

I need to see the next two picks but are we trying to win this year??? we could have taken a qb in round 4

well you CAN take a QB at any point. but if you think a guy can be a franchise QB, you roll the dice on him. obviously macc and the coaches felt this way about hackenberg.

considering you are the guy who always harps on needing a franchise QB, i'm surprised you think you just can take any guy anywhere and problem is solved.

Well, he did set some freshman passing records at PSU in 2013, as a true freshman.

And basically getting 3K yards in 12 games isn't too bad, especially as a true freshman.

We will just have to see. Over reaction won't help. He has all the measurables. Maybe not between the ears, but we will see in a few years.

Forgive my ignorance, but how is it possible for a player with "all-world" potential to also be considered undraftable? I mean, I know there's always going to be difference of opinions, but THIS much? I'm not sure I've EVER seen a divide this big.

I almost wish the kid smoked weed or something -- then I could understand the debate. But he's either NFL-caliber or he isn't -- for all the top QBs that flopped over the years I NEVER heard any of them referred to as undraftable . . .:6:
