no they are not even on the field, one is on IR the other is playing special teams

Yes, of course the Jets are in last place. The only way a GM could have had this team not be in last place this year would be for him to bring in a bunch of free agents. The cupboard was bare when Douglas got here. No talent, no cap room, few picks. He inherited all that, and decided to play the long game. The Jets have had plenty of short term fixes, plenty of GMs who were willing to spend money that might translate to being immediately mediocre rather than awful, but would never actually translate to having a really good team.
I know Jets fans don't want to hear about patience. It's been half a century. But if we keep forcing GMs to produce immediate results, we are forcing them to take shortcuts. And we've seen those shortcuts before. Here are just a few of the most recent shortcuts:
Trumaine Johnson
LeVeon Bell
CJ Mosley
The shortcuts fail far more often than they succeed.
Let's let guys like AVT, Bryce Hall, the Michael Carters, etc., develop a little.

It was an intriguing idea, especially since Wills are often tweeners between OLBs and safeties in stature. But the results...well, there you go.
did not play his rookie season, they sat him and he learned the nuances of playing the position, learned the play book, learned what not to do that should of been the game plan for Zach but they wanted their new toy to fall flat on his face by doing
As does every GM. His drafts are at least NFL competent. He doesn't hit on every pick. Not even on every top pick. Neither does any team. Look at some of the train wrecks the Patriots have drafted under Belichick early in drafts over the past decade.
Maccagnan's and Idzik's were historically awful. Douglas is at least drafting some guys who are potentially very good players, like AVT, Elijah Moore, Hall, the Carters, even Braden Mann (I could see the team drafting a K with a later pick this year). In two drafts, he has selected more guys who appear to be the real deal than Maccagnan and Idzik did combined. Not the highest bar, but I think any team would be pleased with getting around 6-8 solid starters in two years worth of picks, especially when the team still has some other guys who may or may not pan out, and a bunch of picks for the future.
Every team has misses. The Jets at least now has some hits, like other teams do.
Zach Wilson is not the answer……. I hate to say it ….. He has no accuracy, poor awareness, and poor mechanics. I wasn’t expecting a win…. but the line blocked fairly well, and he was flat out missing guys all over the field. Sure there were a lot of drops, but a lot of those were poor throws

Scout and draft a QB when there is actually an elite one to take (there isn't this year) and when the team is ready for a young QB to step in and be surrounded by talent. The Jets are not there yet.
If you draft a QB this upcoming draft, you are setting yourself up to be disappointed just like with Wilson, Darnold, and the others.
JD has drafted lots of players that get injured.

I agree there isn't a QB worth drafting early, but maybe later and see if he can beat out Zach Rosen.
don't worry JD already has his eye on one player, just won something yesterday and you would agree if Zach next season can not improve it would be wise on taking this kid as the new shiny toy to replace this googly eye one
I am fine taking a QB later. But not a big investment in one. Not until the team is ready.
Well I don't know if he has enough picks that are hits. AVT, Carter and Moore on offense. Bryce Hall on defense. All I know is his teams have won 5 games in almost two seasons.
What about trading for Minshew with a late round pick?
