They waived Rontez Miles to make room for the Safety (Ronald Martin).

I could not argue with that if they did bring Powell back instead. I think Owusu is a more polished WR and would bring more to the offense, but I agree that the concussions are a concern.

Rontez Miles might have been the best player on the team in these preseason games, and from everything I read he was having a strong training camp too ... and I DO NOT think he slips through waivers for the PS like the others, with the dearth of quality Safeties in this league, I'll be shocked if he isn't claimed, just look at the Giants situation, he might START FOR THEM on opening day if they claim him!
And that's where I see him heading, the Giants, so we're gonna see, up close and personal, how big a mistake this was.
I don't get it, I'm getting more irate as I type this. Ronald Martin gave us FIVE SAFETIES (with Miles), a perfectly reasonable number, why didn't we cut one of those 10 OL's as the corresponding move instead? I'm sorry, I cannot let this slide without comment, I think this was a blunder, we had a million subpar OL's to choose from to make room for Martin.
I'm not saying its impossible, but if that happens, if he clears waivers, I will be shocked.
I expect him to be on another team by this time tomorrow, and MY GUT says I'll have to watch him with the hated Giants.

You may be right. There is a good chance he does not get through waivers.

Fine, if they wanted Martin thats perfectly fine, I'm even fine with it if they thought Martin was better than Miles, they get paid to make those evaluations and I haven't seen Martin so I'm in no position to disagree, but none of that explains why they had to release Miles to make room for Martin, thats where I TOTALLY DISAGREE with this move. If they had kept Miles we would have five Safeties on the roster, perfectly reasonable. Whats not reasonable is 10 OL's, thats absurd in the extreme, and its not like we have 10 Larry Allen's to protect. The corresponding cut here should have been an OL.
That's a ton of OL for sure, I wonder if several are hurting.
Ham,i've criticized this organization for much of my fan life. You know as well as I that they have given us a reason to complain over the last 40 years. From all indications Mikey Mac and Bowles were ready for this responsibility. They have much experience in all facets of managing a team and game. I am going to hold off on any criticism, as outrageous as some of these cuts seem to be, I have to believe that Mikey Mac and Bowels have things under control.
