My friend who a Buckeye said just wait. He said same thing about Devin so I don't really trust his opinion.

Its not a reach, Lee was ranked #9 in Daniel Jeremiah's TOP 50 and #15 on Gil Brandt's TOP 100, the problem is, he's a one dimensional 4-3 OLB and we play a base 3-4, and even if we switch to a base 4-3 (which Bowles refused to do last year even though drafting Williams made it a no brainer), he still likes to switch fronts, that makes Lee a part time player.

Picking a 4-3 LB for what was perceived/assumed to be a base 3-4/hybrid isn't a reach? You don't think pick could have been better utilized with Spriggs?

15. **Darron Lee, OLB, Ohio State

One of the best athletes in the draft, Lee is explosive in his movements and can cause problems in the backfield when he reads the play early, because he can get there faster than just about anyone. He needs to be more consistent as a tackler in space and in taking on blockers

13. Darron Lee, OLB, Ohio State (91)

Instincts/recognition: 2
Take-on skills: 3
Range vs. run: 1
Tackling: 3
Third-down capabilities: 1
What he brings: One of the better space linebackers in this class, Lee is a rangy run defender who shows fast eyes and quality recognition skills. His best value as a prospect comes on third down, where he has the athleticism to match up in zone or man coverage and he is an underrated blitzer. While he is undersized and will never be a strong point-of-attack defender, Lee is an ideal fit for today's game and should quickly develop into an impactful weakside linebacker.

You mean the fifth tackle, who was projected by most to be a second rounder? No, he's not a reach at #20. The guy projected around #15 is the real reach.

you said he was a reach and a virtual unknown. that is incorrect. he was widely projected as a mid 1st rounder.

now questions on fit with the jets are legit. obviously bowles thinks he can work in his system. gonna have to trust the coach knows who fits his system

I never have. But I THOUGHT I could trust the GM.

Jets will be showing a lot of 4-3 & 4-2-5 looks this season.

Lee & Skrine will play a lot with 3 WR sets being predominant formation used.

Expect the Jets to play Lee at 4-3 OLB as well as 3-4 WLB...

Hope he pans out...

We're a base 3-4 team that took an undersized 4-3 OLB in the first round, and I do mean strictly a 4-3 OLB, at 6' 1"/232 he'll get devoured in the 3-4

How does that make sense?

If Bowles refused to switch to a base 4-3 after we drafted L. Williams, when it was a no brainer, why will he do it now?
