Pick #103 - Bryce Petty - QB - Baylor

I don't have to talk up Petty, I've been doing that for months when I consistently mocked him early in RD 2 as the third QB off the board and made him the # 3 QB on my big board, in the EARLY 2 Tier.

He's raw and he has a steep learning curve, so you won't even see him this year after the pre season, but he has good size and arm talent, can make all the throws and really spin it, a good fit for the swirling winds at the Meadowlands and the northeast away sites in the AFC East, which is always important for me with QB prospects for the Jets, so I think he has starting QB potential ... down the road.

Thanks Super, I hadn't seen that, VERY FUNNY, but then Gruden turns serious and raves about his arm talent.

Thats why I've been so high on this kid, like Gruden said, you watch this kid throw and think ... I want that.

You have no idea... I have been calling for us to draft this kid on all the other boards we posted on this past year till we found a home here. I don't think there is anyone that has championed this kid more than me for the last 7-8 months...

Fulmer originally wanted him at Tennessee until h got axed. Petty could be the steal of the draft when its all said and done.

I'am amped. I've been lobbying for this kid since week 3 last year. lol

Definitely looks the part. Big strong g kid with a rifle. His only problem is he's the least NFL ready Qb in the draft. However, he's a natural thrower of the football that will work hard.

I don't think a 4th Rd pick prevents us from looking hard at next year's Qb class, imo.

I hate how every Qb taken after Rd 2 is compared to Wilson now, even if they're nothing the same. Petty couldnt be more different than Wilson in every way, from build, to mobility, to size, to arm strength, to coaching, to system...holy cap is that a piss poor comparison ...like comparing Favre to Vick...
