Pick #103 - Bryce Petty - QB - Baylor

It takes three characteristics to be a successful NFL QB - physical ability, mental acumen and work ethic. It sounds like this kid has the 1st and 3rd already, so I guess time will tell if he can develop the 2nd one.

In all honesty, i think he prefers #10 , that was his highschool number.
Can only mean one thing:

Petty's age, back and system translation concern me. Big arm. Nice intangibles. He needs time, which is hard to come by these days

He started missing games his senior year in high school because of it, missed 2 games in college because of it, and he's already 24 (may be 25 or 26 before he's ready to play). will be an interesting prospect the next 3 preseason to see how he develops.
Its essentially the same injury Tony Romo suffered in 2013, and he was fine the following year (this year), had one of his best seasons. So I'm not too concerned about it. I'm sure the Jets checked him out thoroughly and concluded its okay.

Well that explains why he slid to the 4th RD, IMO he's better than Mannion and Grayson who went ahead of him.
Saints had made the move for Grayson, so I was thinking Philly or Cleveland.
The comparison is a later Rd QB that needs to develop before he can start in the NFL year 1... But comes out of training camp as the starter...And does very well.
Nothing to do with size, arm, college system etc.... Piss poor assumption on the comparison to the comparison that wasn't the comparison you thought ... LOL

They say he missed two games his Sr year due to it. I also read he played through some issues that came up last Ywar. Caused him to fall down draft boards. Factor in age with back issues and he was moved behind some other qbs by teams.

Well, Winston was on the FSU baseball team and as Phil Simms put so well, was born to throw something.
I would agree he's the second Best thrower of the football in the draft.
