Start Trevor Reilly!
This kid was one of our best players in the preseason, certainly one of our best edge rushers along with Lorenzo Mauldin, but Mauldin is hurt and unlikely to suit up verses the Colts, he'll probably need a few weeks to recover considering he was knocked out cold and had to be held overnight at the hospital for testing and observation, thats no mild concussion, so we may not see him for three or four games much less this week verses Indy, but Reilly was his equal as a pass rusher this preseason, if not better, and Sunday he picked right up where he left off in the preseason with a terrific strip-sack of Manziel after he exploded off the edge, and that wasn't the only time he hurried the QB or forced him to scramble out of the pocket. When Reilly got his chance to shine in the 4th Qtr and bring the heat, he did not disappoint.
That said, the Colts are one of the most pass happy teams in the NFL, they have no running game to speak of, surely they know they are not running on the Jets front seven, even good rushing teams and top RB's have a hard time running verses the Jets, so I expect to see a steady diet of passing from Andrew Luck this week, especially in the dome.
Like I said, this is hardly going out on a limb, they are probably the most one dimensional, pass happy team in the league, so when you play the Colts there is no such thing as a situational pass rusher because there's no such thing as passing downs, EVERY DOWN IS A PASSING DOWN for the Colts, so especially in this game your best edge rushing OLB's should be a part of your base defense, and IMO that means Reilly should start over Pace. We don't need a veteran OLB who can set the edge in this game, FOR WHAT, THEY DON'T RUN, we need young legs that can put the heat on Andrew Luck.
Whose with me on this?
