Just saw the news on Decker.

If he comes back this year, great, but when I hear partially torn rotator cuff, I hear season ending injury.

So I'm hoping for the best, but expecting the worst.

ENTER ROBBY ANDERSON ... NEXT MAN UP

First, its unfair for anyone to expect this kid to replace Decker's production from a year ago. Decker was probably the best #2 WR in the league last year. You are not replacing those numbers with a rookie UDFA, that is not happening.

That said, I think the emergence of Enunwa as a force in the passing game, combined with Anderson's length and ability to stretch the field as a legit deep threat, and of course provided Brandon Marshall stays healthy as the #1, which now becomes absolutely essential, but I think our passing game should continue to produce at a high level provided Fitz doesn't continue to regress. If the QB stinks then nothing else matters, but if Fitz can regain some semblance of what he was last year, I still think we have the WR's to make a real impact in these games.

Anderson may not have Decker's incredible route running skills and veteran savvy, but he has terrific length and this kid can really fly. I don't know how or why he flew under the radar in the draft, but IMO this kid is the real deal, similar to the UDFA Gem the Giants uncovered some years back with Victor Cruz, and I can see Anderson having a similar impact now that he has his shot, particularly as a BIG PLAY specialist.

LOLz maybe because the kid looks like he needs some hot meals??

seriously though, if we can put 10+ pounds of muscle on him, we might have found our very own "diamond in the rough.."

would be nice.....

Not only Robby Anderson, hope we see a lil bit of Peake as well... I think over the next few weeks we could see what our future will look at wide out if both these two get it going...

Anderson should shine and be a key target this week, as well moving forward... I just hope that Fitz realizes he doesn't have to force it only to Brandon Marshall and not give these kids their opportunities...

I expect Forte to be the focal point of the game plan. Gailey needs to stop treating Fitzpatrick like Dan Marino, and riding his arm to victory. I expect a conservative approach tomorrow. We're not going to have a lot of success throwing the ball all over the yard against this secondary.

Regarding Anderson, no more running past backups in the pre season. Time to put his big boy pants on against Seattle.

If we had a better QB, this kid would have had a breakout performance today, he would be a popular pickup in fantasy this week.

Twice he beat the defenders deep, and one of them was Richard Sherman, a marquee name, one of the best CB's in the game, and he beat Sherman like a drum, had at least three steps on him which is wide open in the NFL, could have strolled into the end-zone on a jog, beat him that badly, and both times the QB missed the throws.

The first one, he under-threw Anderson and turned what should have been a long TD if he hits Anderson in stride, into a jump-ball where Anderson had to abruptly break stride and come back for the football.

The second one, where Anderson schooled Richard Sherman, Fitz over-threw him by a few yards, and its not easy to over-throw someone with Anderson's speed who is sprinting at full speed, but that was probably due to over-compensating after under-throwing Anderson the first time.

Anyway, a better QB doesn't miss those chances, neither one of them, and Anderson is on every highlight package tonight with two long TD's, one verses one of the most celebrated CB's in the sport.

So you look at the stat sheet and you see a pedestrian day for Anderson, but if you watched the game and you know what you are watching, you know this kid easily could have and should have had a monster game with a better QB throwing him the ball.

Fitz over threw him by 6 inches, the ball hit his finger tips. Not several yards.
Practice is severely limited compared to what we are used to. With the injuries mounting, some reps to Anderson and peake should improve chemistry, but now they also have to share reps with the new te. It could be interesting,we do have good depth at wr, but they are rookies so we have to be realistic on their impact.
Anderson can burn cb all day long, bit if he's a one trick pony defenses can defend him.

He also dropped a couple passes. Not a good day for anyone.

In all fairness the first one he dropped was a severely under thrown ball in which he slowed down to make the play and the CB got back to disrupt the whole play.... The one off his hands that's all on him...

Kid could have had a monster day especially if you have a QB that can hit this kid in stride he has two monster TD's

And don't give me F-intz overthrew him Blah blah blah... F-Intz overthrew him because he had to throw it early cause his timing is off with this kid cause he doesn't have the arm for deep passes to a kid like Anderson. Maybe practice reps will help..

I think the Anderson will be fine, not a great day for sure.

Sorry to be bursting a huge bubble ,Robbie Anderson is your typical Stevie Anderson, Ryan Spadola, David Clowney and Ryan Yarborough's of the pre-season we've seen time and time again.

Come on guys, He aint that special.

Disagree with the comparisons..... Not saying he is special but I am saying he can play in this league and has the potential to be special.... Way to small of a sample size to judge him yet... Thoough I can understand why you would with all the guys you mentioned I am sure it feels familiar. But lets give the kid some time to prove what HE is....

2 good throws from Fitz and he has 4 catches for over 100 yds and 1 probably 2 TDs and everyone might be singing a different tune this morning about Anderson and maybe even yesterdays game.

Yep, you can't judge a WR based solely on stats and results, because the position is so QB dependent. With better throws on those deep balls this kid would have been one of the hottest pickups in fantasy football this week. With Decker hurt, every fantasy site would have been touting Anderson as a 'must add' this week.

this kid needs to concentrate a bit more on his technique and he will be fine... preseason there was no really contest, now he is facing elite competition and he will only continue to grow with more attempts... building up his confidence is key getting him going on more short throws then fire a shot downfield and let him go get it...

And again to defend Anderson a little bit here he absolutely TOASTED Richard Sherman....His technique off the line was perfect and Sherman doesn't have the speed to run with him. Way to early drops happen, bad timing. Marshall has had a few terrible drops this year.... If we get the QB that can throw him the ball I think he will be fine.... He can run every route... But his game is predicated on A QB being able to get him the ball over the top... So for a player like Anderson you have top be able to hit the homerun to set up the underneath stuff, not vice versa in my opinion
