I've suffered with the Rangers, too. The drought isn't as bad as the whole 54 years, the curse, all that stuff, but 1994 seems like both yesterday and eons ago.
Realistically, by all mathematical counts, in the NFL, you should be able to expect a division title every four years or so, a Super Bowl appearance every 16, and the Lombardi Trophy every 32 years. That is if all things are equal.
All things are not equal. So in 49 years, you have teams with a plethora of titles, like the Steelers, Cowboys, 49ers, even the Giants. Other teams cheat the system, like the Pats. And you have teams with droughts worse than the Jets, like the Browns, Lions, etc. The Jets are definitely behind the curve, and are due, on all accounts. Not enough division titles, SB appearances, or Lombardi Trophies.
We're due.
