The best player is on the Giants D Line...........Winning teams win & losing teams lose
Way to go Big mac. But wait Snacks could not rush the passer......well I am glad out three can LOL
have to look at this from a different angle...
Mo Wilkerson coming off a devastating injury seems he is almost back to form but was hindered throughout the year with lingering effects from said injury... Maybe he was ready to come back as the doctors and he thought, because his mental state seemed to be holding him back from giving 1000% effort...
Sheldon Richardson when Mo was either unavailable or deactivated, he showed up in big ways... But the coaching staff did him no favors by using him as a hybrid edge rusher standing up as an outside linebacker... Sheldon does have the athleticism to pull it off but his awareness as a linebacker is sub par at this point of his young career... Basically he becomes a liability in coverage...
Leonard Williams is continuing is development and is producing but it takes more than one player to be a dominate force...
Steve McClendon has had some nice moments this season but it has been overshadowed by blustering bungles of plays they have let get away from them...
Deon Simon this year has shown up in a few key moments proving his development is far ahead of schedule...
Excuses for this unit is not on their deficiencies of unable to get pressure but the rest of the defenses inability to give the d-line that one more second to get the pressure into the backfield... Our corners are sub par learning on the job, while one corner has literally stated he is out to the pasture...
Linebackers are in a transition period at the moment, they show flashes now and again but aren't consistent...
Overall as horrible at times this defensive line looks they are one of the best run defenders in the league statistically speaking... We need to stick with either the 3-4 or 4-3 base defensive alignment and then make the proper rotations to keep everyone on the field throughout the game to constantly bring the pressure from up front allowing the rest of the defense to work off their success and maybe we can build upon moving forward...
