I just think with Hack getting his ass beat in college he will be more prepared in the NFL. I think it taught him a lot. I still want him to be the day one starter because he beat out Fitz.
From the table of Hackenberg's 3 year stats @PSU below you can see that his Soph season (Franklin's 1st) was a complete disaster. I believe he was sacked an incredible 44 times that year. His Junior year, he started to turn around the TD:INT ratio even though he was sacked 38 times. What I haven't been able to find is the number of times he fumbled, as the 'small hands' comment from earlier got me curious.
Year Class Pos G Cmp Att Pct Yds Y/A AY/A TD Int Rate
2013 FR QB 12 231 392 58.9 2955 7.5 7.4 20 10 134.0
2014 SO QB 13 270 484 55.8 2977 6.2 5.3 12 15 109.4
2015 JR QB 13 192 359 53.5 2525 7.0 7.2 16 6 123.9
Career 693 1235 56.1 8457 6.8 6.5 48 31 121.4
Hand size, Hardship LOL My god you think this guy played football in the middle east. Lets not make excuses for him already How many guys enter the NFL with real hardships. Lets face it we need to see him on the field We can beat this to death but lets let the poor boy play
LOL Well Played :global (27):Guys, enough with all the talk about hand size. This is football, not a presidential campaign!

i think pennington would be a hell of a college or pro coach if he wanted to do it..Interesting, they seem to have taken the video down.
Chad's been hanging around the Jets an awful lot lately. Pennington also works for T E S T football academy as an instructor. I hope these young QB's are taking advantage of his services. I think Pennington would be a good guy to learn from

both football & book smarts.. former rhodes scholarship finalist for those that don't know or maybe have forgotten..His father was a coach I believe, and he said he would never want to do it full time. He must like teaching though because he teaches for T E S T.
Guys that played in the league for a while with out great natural tools are usually the best QB teachers. They had to do it with their smarts
