Couldn't agree more and really that's how the conversation with my friend ended. Was there's no way Fitz should lose his starting job when the team is 3-1 and Fitz has positive TD to INT ratio.

If Fitz starts playing really bad, then all bets are off, but right now there's no need to do anything rash.

Elias, I'm a person that rarely beats up on Jets players, or coaches just because the mob has turned on them.

I liked Pennington, Sanchez, Mangeious, understand why the Jets made the Gholson pick. Think Kenny O was great. I still defend Rex. I even like Woody. LOL

Smith is just really a hard guy to get behind. Not only has he been horrible on the field, but he's really shown himself to be a JO off the field.

If that makes me a hater, so be it

Yes, instead of following the advice of an experience GM and coaching staff, I always take the advice of some reporter with a degree in journalism and creative writing. The man wrote this article to be read and he accomplished that and got paid.
Now give him a cookie and tell him to go away.

Are you serious, non of us are God so none of us can say that. Because of Geno's garbage with this jaw break gate, I'll admit I don't want to see him back on the field either as a Jet. If Fitz starts to truly flop at any point or get injured, I can only hope that Petty has learned enough and is ready to go at that point. So I'm with you in being done with Geno but lets face the facts here, Geno was the clear starter before jawbreak gate and Fitzy couldn't take the job from him then. Must have been a reason why. Bowles and Mac hold no loyalty to Geno so he must have been earning it in training camp. How he would have done in pre-season and the real games no one knows but don't just assume Geno flops. Maybe he did take that next step as a player or QB rather. Notice I said player but NOT leader.

One thing for sure is Geno will get another chance...if not here somewhere else. The QB play around the league is horrendous.

Seeing the light go on (or so we think..) for guys like Andy Dalton after wat (5?) years makes me think maybe the door isn't 100% shut on Geno. While that is probably true, I don't want to find out this year (would be a bad sign for our season). This is Fitz' team

The truth is, YES, Geno was winning the QB competition and it wasn't even close. But Geno became an idiot with his off field behavior. He ended up getting popped very badly and he broke his jaw. That cost him his likely starting job.

And really what happened off the field means that he LOST the QB competition. From a pure football standpoint? Yes, Geno won. But he FAILED in regards to all of the extra leadership qualities that everyone likes to see. He not only failed his teammate, he failed his TEAM.

So Fitz got to start and he has made the most of his opportunity so far. Good for him. He elevated his play when given a shot. He DESERVES to be the starter. Geno DESERVES to be sitting on the bench.

This post points out the complete OBJECTIVE truth behind where we find our QB situation up to the minute. Meanwhile, I will freely tell you I have pure hate for Geno Smith. A douchebag like that should not be gifted with such athletic skills. Athletic skills like that BELONG on a far nicer person than Geno is. Geno is a failure as a person.

if you mean this thread?? OK i will & get back to you..

i will say this though.. the folks here that talk about the "hate" directed at smith rarely do anymore then gloss over or flat out pretend his well documented off field character issues all the way back to his college days don't make him a tough guy to root for, much less like..
