SPOILER ALERT! If you haven't watched tonight's episode of The Walking Dead, don't read any further!
"Remember" found our group of survivors within the gated community of Alexandria. Much of the group is weary of their new surroundings but after some investigating they begin to acclimate themselves to the possibility of living out their rest of their days in normality. There also seemed to be a renewed sense of hope for most (but not all) of our survivors. The last time the group felt optimistic about their future was during the prison season prior to meeting the governor. I must admit though that seeing the group in a suburban setting was so weird for me as a viewer because I'm so used to watching them living in unsanitary and unsafe conditions.

The crew at Alexandria seems almost too good to be true in my opinion. I mean, the leader, Deanna, used to be a congresswoman prior to the apocalypse and we all know how trustworthy politicians can be. Deanna tried really hard to convince Rick and the rest of the survivors to join the community and at times came off way too strong.
I really liked how Deanna made a big deal about the importance of remembering who you were pre-zombie apocalypse because "it mattered," despite Rick's objections that it didn't. This came to a head at at the end of the episode when she named him and Michonne co-constables of the community. This really brought me full circle and harkened the old Rick from the first season. I was happy to see him back in police uniform (and SANS the beard). I also really liked how Carol was acting clumsy and was blatantly lying during her recorded interview with Deanna. This, coupled with Daryl's refusal to shower, and Rick and Michonne unable to get comfortable enough to fall asleep, shows that they still cannot fully trust these strangers.
This brings me to my last point, I think that Alexandria is going to be different than Woodbury and Terminus because how many despicable people can Rick and Co. possibly encounter in this world. It would be too unbelievable if the writers went down that road. The missing gun throws me off though but I think that's the point. It must be a red herring that the writers are using to make us think that the people from Alexandria aren't who they say they are BUT I truly believe the real threat is yet to be seen and will probably come from outside.
Best line of the night, hands down goes to Daryl who after seeing Carol in her new outfit - "you look ridiculous," a thought that I'm sure we all had upon seeing her new getup.
R.I.P. Rick's Beard, Seasons 3-5 Walker 2
