This is the season we find out re: Geno

Did somebody actually post "Geno" and "playoffs" in the same post?
Yup I did. Me and a few others. Don't worry, you and most other people on this site don't agree so your still in the majority.

All these stats are nice but how about yardage after the catch? This would be a good indicator whether or not the QB hit the receiver in stride or they had to go to the ground to catch the ball, which seemed to happen a lot with Sanchez. Makes a huge difference in winning and losing games. Anybody have those available?
A lot of Geno's passes seemed to find his receivers in stride. I say that's a good sign don't you think.

Having grown up with Namath made a properly thrown long ball an important part of the game for me. It's been a while since we had a guy who could do this. You know Sanchez couldn't. I know everyone gets an opinion, but I'm surprised that anyone who watches could even think that Sanchez could throw like Geno (shrug)

Geno is terrific at hitting receivers in stride for both his NFL seasons

If only those receivers were wearing the same colored jerseys as Geno, those two seasons wouldn't have been as spectacularly awful as they actually were

That only seems to be a very few amount of Geno haters that want to find any reason to say he isn't good, he can't do this and he will never do that. Even most of the Geno haters or doubters are open minded and will give him props for the things he does well. It all doesn't matter, Geno has to prove it on the field. If he can, he shuts everyone up or you would think he would and if he can't then the Geno haters get what they want and Geno is gone.

The only reason vast majority of those who.have seen him play for two years, the people you call geno haters, say that he isn't good, he can't do this and he will never do that is because he isn't good, he can't do this and he will never do that

Fortunately, it is a moot point because, by September, he will thankfully be in the rear view mirror as the Jet starter and on his way out the door to his next career, whatever that may be

Yup, I do agree. I know he doesn't but I hope Geno looks at this site or others like it and uses it as motivation to prove the doubters wrong. He has enough motivation from other sources I'm sure. The media, the fans he faces in his normal daily life and at games, events etc-etc. The team drafting a QB and trading for one and I'm sure he has fans flooding his Facebook, Twitter, snap chat or whatever else form of social media he may have a profile. So the nyjetsfanactics or scout/JI site he may not even know exist but I hope he does and sees the hate that's on these sites for him to motivate a turn around.

The idea that a third year NFL QB needs to read message boards for incentive might be the silliest idea in internet history. His time might be better spent actually studying and learning the playbook, and watching film to learn progressions and how to read defensive coverages. Besides, if he did read this site, he'd be so tickled pink by your hundreds of adoring posts about him that he'd probably stop working altogether and go party

Have you read this column by the way that clearly explains and debunks the idea that your hero has "won" anything, no less the starting QB job in September.

Probably just another of your "haters" who you need to joust at like windmills

The 137 fan club is the best

The options Geno had to throw too the last 2 years alone should give him partial pass. Lets not mention the Oline. Turnstile sacks/drive killing penaltys

I am giving geno a pass because of the ineptitude of our last coaching staff esp Head coach.

It all begins and ends with the head coach.

I am not saying geno will be franchise because I don't believe he ever will be but he can win some games and gailey gets the best out of avg qb's because he plays to their strengths. Geno is one of the most athletically talented gailey has had as OC.

It is up to geno to show he can get the mental part down, but when you watch gaileys offense in the past the QB was in shotgun 65-70% of the time which should help geno alot.

The problem is going to be that Geno could play fantastic through the preseason, start in September and go on a 20 Td to no int streak. Then throw one interception and there will be people still coming out of the woodwork claiming, " See, I told you he was garbage." It's a no win situation.
For the record, personally I have no idea how Geno will do with this new CS and upgrade of those around him. I know for certain as much as the many self claimed Nostradamus on this site which is nothing. Can go either way. I HOPE that the light comes on for Geno, simply because I am a jets fan FIRST, and having our third year, young and physically gifted QB become an asset instead of a liability would be a very good thing for my team.
