Update: Baker Mayfield wins the Heisman

The problem with Mayfield is his off the field behavior. The comparison to Manziel applies there. The Jets don't need the headache of an immature kid who has a checkered past trying to lead grown men. He may be a fiery competitor, but his immaturity is apparent. This team is building a great culture. They don't need a loose cannon as the team leader.

This is garbage. There's ZERO comparison to Manziel. Manziel is a full blown alcoholic and came out of college as just that. Mayfield got drunk one night and got himself arrested for reckless conduct. That's probably happened to just about everyone that's ever drank before in their lives. He's NOT an off the field problem. He screwed up once and that's the extent of it. Think long and hard about what I said. And this question isn't just for you but for everyone reading this..........

Has you EVER drank too much and done something stupid while under the influence? Something you would NEVER do otherwise? I know I have. I was just lucky enough not to have a camera trained on me. I was lucky enough not to have the cops watching me. Shit happens and people need to learn that at times kids will be kids. Has he done anything like that since?

You are speculating. The comparison to Manziel is valid - both have alcohol related incidents on their resume.

And no, getting arrested for reckless conduct is not something that happens to everyone that's drank in their lives!!!! I know a little about the law, and I can tell you that it's not a good thing. It means he went above and beyond normal college partying. So stop equivocating his immature behavior to anyone else. They are not the same. This kid went far beyond acceptable and legal norms. I don't need to think long and hard about it. I'm a parent and know exactly what to teach my kids about proper behavior. And I can tell you that getting arrested is not on the list of good behavior.

Not sure being a Heismann winner means a QB will be good in the NFL. Vinny T. Andre Ware. Ty Detmer. Gino Torreta. Charlie Ward. Danny Weurfful. Chris Weinke. Eric Crouch. Jason White. Matt Leinhart. Troy Smith. Tim fucking Tebow. Sam Bradford. Cam Newton. RG3. Manziel.

I'd rather sit and wait for the Jets pick in round 1 and select Mayfield than trade the farm to move up for Rosen. I'm not so sure about Darnold yet. I like that kids game also.

i trust Morton. He's been a good coach for us this season. The offense is the reason why this team has outperformed its expectations.

Not so sure....first off there is tonights game....then there are a bunch more that either we start slow or fail in fourth quarter. Plus his background is with WRs not with QBs - could be a reason again why our young guys didnt make it onto the field onto mccown got hurt

We'll see. I still believe he's going to slip not only due to his height issues but also exemplary human beings pointing out his poor behavior. They are beyond approach and apparently they are also perfect? I wish they'd run for president.

Anyway, back on point, he will slip IMO due to his height and some small behavior problems? Most GM's will go with a guy like Rosen because he not only has the ideal height, but he also has comparable numbers to Mayfield. So IMO he will be considered the safer pick.

I don't know what Mac will do and how he feels about a guy like Mayfield? I just know that he will be doing something at QB either in FA or in the draft. There's no other way at this point. He's running out of popularity in NY right now as we speak. The fans know he's already had two opportunities to find a franchise QB and he's failed on both. If he fails this time, I think he ends up being gone.....
