Why would we trade down into the fifth and sixth rounds when the last of the decent players are still on the board? Are we hoping to pick the Lowsman?

Puzzles me as well.......................and then pick a safety instead of edge or CB with that next pick. ? ? ?

Seems consistent with what Douglas does. At the top of the draft, you do what you need to do to get the elite talent on your board. Quality over quantity.

On the bottom of the draft, you load up on as many swings for the fence as you can. Quantity over quality.

Doubtful you find a true starter in that spot, anyway.

My suspicion with the pick is that he's not really an NFL safety. He's not athletic enough. He's more of a tweener, a hybrid between SS and Will. He'll end up playing as a Will in some packages and some specials. That's where he fits.

So if they do what they did at Texas with the Johnny Joneses (i.e Lam Jones), the two Carters are from the towns of Navarre and Douglasville

Nav Carter at RB

Doug Carter at S

The funny thing is, when they drafted the first Carter, one of the networks started showing the film of the other one.
Did they know the Jets would pick the other guy, too?
They did a better job predicting than Mel Kiper.

Being reported that the Jets want Sherwood as a linebacker! Why have we traded down AGAIN? Douglas is going to be left standing on his own with a hatful of eighth round picks!

Very happy with Jets trading up for O Line. Still in Division we are behind rest in Defense and Offense as a whole . But we are in Full rebuild now.
Hey that means we are ahead of the rest. We have so much experience rebuilding for the last 53 years...

Boy, Deonte Brown is dropping like a stone. The curse of being tipped by me earlier. I definitely think he would have been a better use of our first sixth round pick than some no-name DB selected from a phone book.

Personally................I don't expect any of the round 6 picks to make the roster and I also have doubts about the 2nd and 3rd 5th round picks
