completely agree with the bolded.. BTW, if the light really did turn on for him last season, i can see fitzpatrick playing at that level until 36 or so..

Fitz was accurate, gutsy and most of all elevated the play of those people around him. The oline had a great year because of his quick release. Marshall had his best year yet as did Ivory.

I think our bad luck is that we finally have a decent QB and he's a 33 year old journeyman coming off of a career year in a time when QBs have never been more valuable.

I want him back, but I wouldn't pay him $15MM. I put more of the credit on Gailey, if Fitzpatrick goes for the payday elsewhere and fades back into obscurity, I'm confident Gailey will get a decent performance out of whoever we get. I'd take a chance on RG3 or Kaep (if he's available). I will say that I'd rather sign Freeman or someone than go with Geno. But of its going to be Geno, I still think we'll see the best Geno yet with Gailey helping to minimize his deficiencies.

unless re-signing revis was mainly for PSL sales, our window to win with him is the next few seasons.. even less time for marshall & mangold.. i think it's very fair to say during this window fitzpatrick gives us the best chance at another super bowl..

Rams, Browns and maybe the Broncos could target him... Wouldn't put it passed the Texans also to be in that market after the winning season Fitz had last year...

The Bradford deal is what has the Team and Fitz at Odds..... Team wanted 2-3 yr Deal for about 10-11 mill tops..... Which probably would have got done if it wasn't for the Bradford deal.... Fitz is thinking if Bradford could get 18 mill so should I...... My guess is Jets upped their offer to 13.5 Mill a year.... Fitz said no.... Jets said go see what the Market sets your price tag at.... bring us a contract offer you are willing to sign and we will either meet or say no.... I think Fitz wants to stay so he is gonna gamble he gets over 13.5 on the market and the jets match and he stays and everyone is kinda happy... If they don't he gets paid and life goes on.....

Fitz was the first qb in forever that I didnt cringe every time we dropped back to pass. Fitz is a perfect fit for this offense. I do get that he's not the long term answer but he definitely is one less piece that we would need heading into this offseason.

I would really like to see this offense have the ability to progress by filling holes and playing a second year together.

I think Fitz is looking at this as his last big contract opportunity, an issue I never thought of. His playing well put him in a great position, in a league with terrible options at qb. I don't think a top 5 draft team will pay him 15 mil and up, when they are about to draft a qb. That eliminates the tabs and browns I believe. I'd be shocked if he resigned with the Texans. I'd imagine osweiler liked Denver.

We're gonna have to over pay, let's just hope if someone offers him something serious, he'll give the jets right of first refusal. If it's ridiculous, then geno is going to have to play 4 games while petty gets ready for prime time.

If I was Fitz, I'd want 20 million too, can't blame him.

Bradford and Fitz have the same agent, so the deal didn't surprise the Fitz camp. It may have surprised the jets. Mac is building a franchise, he's a penny pincher at times, he's going to get his way and not pay over market value.

Petty won't be forced into action, they feel good about his progression and if they need too they can reduce the game plan to his comfort while maximizing his ability as he develops under center...

If Petty is not the answer right now, they guess what he never will be...

Geno Smith is garbage, self-proclaimed super star but can't seem to get out of his own way...

Yes the free agency class may be limited, but who knows the Jets could make a run at Osweiler, RG3 or trade for Mike Glennon or even Ryan Nassib who I wished would of been drafted instead of Geno effin Smith...
