Honestly Im not surprised Morton was let go.
McCown helped him, much more than he helped McCown.
He quit on the team when McCown went out in the Denver game, then publicly admitted it.
Had no idea what to do with Petty , and struggled all season getting plays called in a timely manner. Look how many times we were forced to burn time outs because he couldn't call a play in time.
The Offense ranked 28th in the league, the
D 25th . Rodgers should be gone next.

how many hand picked coaches should bowles be allowed to fire before he's identified as the problem??

What if the team lands its franchise QB in the draft, brings in a few select younger high end free agents, and continues to progress the way it had this year? I don't understand Bowles definitely being gone after next year when he just signed an extension.

I think Bowles either makes the playoffs next year or he's gone. That's just my opinion but we will see. The team would have to play really well under him in order to stay. I dont care really as long as we get our franchise QB!

That's a question for the Johnson's, not me.
I felt he sucked before the middle of the 2015 season and if it were my call, Bowles would have been fired after the 2016 season. That still has no bearing on Mortons short comings. And if there's any truth to the reports surfacing that he clashed with Bowles and other coaches through out the season have any truth to them. It makes more sense that he was fired.
As long as Bowles is still HC , he can fire and hire as many coaches as he wants.
??????? Hopefully the next hire is better than Morton. As a Jet fan, that all we can hope for.
edit:
I'll add one more thing, he should add Rodgers to the list of coaches he fired. 28 ranked offense was reason to fire Morton, slightly better 25 the ranked D Should be reason to fire Rodgers....

This move showcases a couple of things to me:

1) Macagnan is going to pull off an immense trade with Cleveland to snag Sam Darnold. The kid is special. (2018 and 2019 1st rounders // both 2nd round picks this year)

2)Bowles wants the "Right" OC to groom Darnold.

3) DeFillipo has to be the OC as Bowles has coveted him since last year.

4)Mac will solidify the F*^% out of this O-Line in free agency to ensure his prized possesion 1st overall and Bowles new OC grow together in the right environment.

Morton Fired ....... I would hire Todd Haley, as new offensive co-ordinator .......
That said I would also fire Kacy Rogers as defensive co-ordinator and hire Jack Del Rio .... for that position....

I'm just going to throw a name out there to see what everyone's opinion is on a possible replacement for Morton.
Gary Kubiak. He recently said he would like to return to coaching as an O.C.
What are your thoughts?

ALSO TO NOTE:

Defillipos contract runs out at the end of this season. Philly cant pull that shit block like they did last year. Thats our new OC boys.

Can you say BRUCE ARIANS as our next OC? What we know is the following:

1) BA retired from AZ, theoretically making him available to do some sort of coaching. Did he ever say he would NOT take another coaching job?

2) BA is a Jersey guy and coaching for the Jets allows him to be home.

3) Odds are the Jets will have a young guy QB starting games in 2018. Why not start with an experienced guy that toilet trusts?

4) BA even said at one time he would go to work for toilet. That's how tight they are.

Draw your own conclusions, but I have a feeling BA will be our next OC. I could be wrong, but tell me this doesn't seem logical?

Darnold is not worth the picks you suggest giving up for him. He is a project and is way over rated. 4 premium picks for a project with a roster full of holes makes no sense at all.

DeFillipo would be a great hire but has already interviewed for HC positions. He's not coming to the Jets on a demotion.

Mac can't solidify the o line very much in Free Agency as there are not many FA prospects available.

Would we have to give some compensation to Arizona for him to join our staff? His contract ran through the 2018 season so Arizona still owns his rights should he come out of retirement.
I could see him taking a consultant position but don't know if he would become OC. I think it is unlikely.

It depends on how his contract is written. If he were going to be HC for the Jets, then yes the Jets would probably have to compensate Bill Bidwell for any remaining years on his contract.

However, in this scenario he's retiring from the HC ranks. He wants less responsibility, he's close to home, and he can work for someone he truly admires.

I don't know how all that works, but refer to reason 4 in my initial post as the biggest reason BA would have set up some sort of" "loophole" in his contract.

I do not believe this for a second. NO way he's going to mortgage the teams lifeblood just to gamble on someone that I quite frankly think isn't very good.

He's got a never ending number of "get out of jail free" cards because he's black. That's what I think. Please tell me when anyone has gotten as many passes that hadn't already won a SB? There aren't any. It's just like when Herm got 5 years when there was no earthly reason for it.

You really need to stop with the racist shit.
Bowles color has no bearing on his being the Jets HC and this is not the first time you have made a statement like this here. I'm embarrassed for you.

DeFilippo is currently the front runner to land the Cardinals HC job , especially now that Munchak turned down a second interview.

Why Bruce Arians could be involved in Jets training camp this summer

By Darryl Slater

Bruce Arians, a Paterson native, decided to call it quits as an NFLcoach after the 2017 season. But Arians, 65, isn't ready to completely walk away from the game.

Arians, who finished his career with five mostly successful seasons as the Cardinals' head coach, had this to say during a recent interview with The MMQB:

"I will be in a training camp this summer. It might be the Jets. It depends on who the Cardinals hire. I will be at training camp. I will miss the players, I will miss the coaches. The game, I think the game and me, we owe each other nothing. We're even."

The Jets, of course, are coached by Todd Bowles, who considers Arians a longtime mentor. So it'll be interesting to see if Arians pops up in Florham Park in late July, to help Bowles out as a coaching consultant for a few weeks.

???????How far back do Bowles and Arians go? Way back.

Bowles, an Elizabeth native, played for Arians at Temple from 1983-85. Bowles later served as Arians' defensive coordinator with the Cardinals from 2013-14. And Bowles kept in close touch with Arians after the Jets hired Bowles to be their head coach in 2015.

Shortly after Arians retired, Bowles, 54, reacted to the news during his season wrap-up press conference.

"If he's leaving it the way he wants to leave it, I'm happy for him," Bowles said. "Bruce has been around a long time. He's been big to me and my career. Mostly off the field, just being the person he is, seeing me grow from college to now. And still having the same relationship means a lot to me. If he's happy about [retiring], I'm good."

BS. It's become so absurdly politically correct in this country that now whenever you dare criticize a black man, you're automatically labeled a racist. DUMB.

Racist shit my ASS.

Like I already posted before you went on your political correctness crusade, tell me WHEN any HC has gotten as many passes for as many mistakes as toilet has made without having already won a SB?
