Well you know what? I think that's great. Maybe the asshole will actually start to grow up? But IMO the damage here has already been done. It is my opinion that Geno would have been cut right after the incident with IK if they had known Fitz would have done as well as he did. At that time, the QB spot was rather unsteady/undecided. The best thing for everyone involved in this, players, coaches, Geno, fans, teammates, is to cut Geno and allow him to find another team. He got his chance with the Jets and he was terrible. Then, to top it all off, as if he wasn't already on shaky ground, he gets into an altercation with a teammate over a measly $600. I'm sorry but when something like that happens, people need to pay their penance. Geno has not yet paid his.
I also fully believe that cutting him would literally be therapeutic for the players. In fact, I work for the Dept. of Defense. It's common for me to go on the road for long periods while I work on projects. I was in San Diego in September of 2013 through about March of 2014. While I was out there I used to frequent a place called Henry's in downtown San Diego. It was a Jets bar and I could always go there and see the game, eat breakfast, etc.. There was a woman there that was the Aunt of Brian Winters. She told me a lot about the kid and how he was such a nice kid. She also told me that he liked everyone on the team except for one person and apparently it was common amongst his teammates. They all hated GENO SMITH. Player to player in a private conversation, they spoke endlessly about how incredibly annoying, arrogant, and just an overall punk Geno was. Mind you, that was his rookie year. So the players have known for a long time that they did not like him.
