Well, do YOU????
LOL
Of course not. You would have to be insane to want smith starting next year. It was was just in your previous post you seemed a bit indecisive .

yes and then he says for all to hear, "I am a starting caliber QB".... you just can not make this stuff up.

Unless he gets picked up by Buffalo. Then he'll be a great guy and an underrated QB.
I understand that it is fashionable here to see Geno as the devil incarnate, but you guys do realize that all of these rants are based on one guy reporting and interpreting what he saw during a televised game, where he may be totally off-base as to what occurred? For all you know, whatever the coach was showing Fitz might have been something that he and Geno already went over while Fitz was still on the field, or a million other explanations that don't involve the absurdities being thrown around here. There were plenty of times during the season that I saw Geno fully engaged in similar sideline discussions.
This is just beyond silly. Let the GS saga play itself out. If the FO and CS keep him around then it means that they still see something in him, and maybe their comments during the season that Geno has handled it all very well and has worked very hard were actually genuine. And if they do cut him - whoever posted above that no one would pick him up is nuts; Geno has won games as a starter in the NFL including one where he had a perfect QB rating. In 2014, he had a top 7 QB rating in the NFL over the last five or six weeks of the season. You have to have something to be able to do that, even if you also put up a lot of stinkers during your first two seasons in the league (when btw, you played for a team with a serious paucity of offensive weapons). If you don't think that some QB-hungry team (the Rams? Texans?) will want to give him a chance, you do not understand the NFL.
you really believe the texans GM wants to sell to the texans fan base, much less the team owner,I understand that it is fashionable here to see Geno as the devil incarnate, but you guys do realize that all of these rants are based on one guy reporting and interpreting what he saw during a televised game, where he may be totally off-base as to what occurred? thanks maine..NONSENSE. I have no use for Geno based on other incidents. I had no idea about the incidents being talked about in this thread. I just know that 1) he's a terrible QB and statistics prove that out. 2) he's an asshole based on stiffing a guy over a measly $600 and creating a VERY embarrassing incident for the team.
That's also the case with everyone else. They are just talking about other incidents as being indicative he still hasn't learned a damn thing about being a leader and a team guy.
thanks maine..
i thought that quite obvious as well..
smith's body of work on & off the field has been well documented by all the smith detractors in this thread..
I would be on cloud nine if Buffalo picked up Geno Smith and made him their starter. Maybe then our HC could actually beat the Buffalo Bills.
I doubt it. I mean, Rex is great. Best coach ever.
You know there is an ignore feature on this board? Were you aware of that? If you really have that much disdain for everything I post, put me on ignore. Frankly, I could care less about your problems with me.
As a mod, I really can't.
You know the function works for you, as well. So feel free to ignore me.
Well, I don't have a problem with you. YOU have the problem with me. Does that clarify things a little better for you?
I honestly thought he would be cut already. Kind of surprised by them holding on to him. It must be because they haven't found his replacement yet. So a fun little timeline, WHEN do you think he gets cut. I'm also pretty sure everyone would enjoy such a thread. Besides, Johnnysd I do not know anyone that still supports him on this board. So give the thread your timeline. Is he traded or he outright cut from the team. Humor is always welcome also.
Based on many of your comments toward me, I am not sure I buy that.
Doesn't make sense to me....he's signed for next year at a little over $1 million....where you gonna find a back-up that knows the system for that?.....plus there's no guarantee FitzMagic/Tragic will be back. To me only way he's gone is if we make a move for an upgrade over Fitz and draft a QB with Petty moving up to the #2.

i agree with your post aside from bolded..He's given every indication that he thinks he's a starter. He's disgusted by not starting this season. He's a big enough idiot that he'd probably request a trade. Also, a 3rd stringer is an emergency QB, we could easily get a guy to fill that role as I would imagine Petty will graduate to 2nd string in TC. And really what are we getting by keeping him? He's a turnover machine. You can't win with a guy like that.
He's also an A$$hole that nobody wants on the team. Not the players, not the fans, not really anyone. The Jets will also owe him a $400,000 roster bonus before too long. I wouldn't pay the idiot a penny.
But here's the biggest reason..... Do you really want this guy working with Bryce Petty and another possible draft pick? HC's go a long way to try and create chemistry and harmony in the locker room. Keeping Geno on the team would counteract all of those efforts. The difference between his cap number and another young draftee would be negligible.
