Why we need a franchise QB & need to stop Far_ing around with second class QB's

Where is this QB coming from? Is there anyone in this draft that you would ride your career on if you were a GM?

If Macc gives up MO, #20, and a 3rd, to move up to the top of the draft, this kid has to start, right now.

He has to start, and win, for the next three years. There is NOBODY in this draft I would risk my career on.

If some value at QB falls, like it did last year with Petty, OK, take a shot

That's why America is going to He_l now. No risk no gain.....My god risk is where the fun is. John Adams George Washington, Jefferson they all took big risks.....Winners........If General Patton owned the Jets we would be in good shape LOL

That's why losing teams lose & winning teams win.......We need to cross that line......If I was Woody I would say guys do it or you are gone. I want to be a winner.

I am going to add to this ....He needs to become a winner first he needs to think like one

Look there are 32 teams trying to win. There are many people in real estate but trump is one of the winners...not luck ....he is a winner in real estate.

We need to be that. Again, both my teams in football are big losers......But the national Media for years picks on the jets not the Cards. I should know! We got to end this.

Does this not bother any Jet fans??????????????

Calling the Jets "big losers" is an overstatement. No, we haven't won a SB in over 40 years, but we've been a pretty decent team over the last 20 years.

imo we are big losers We get The Tuna* & lose him we get Billy Boy & we lose him in one day. We get Farve & we lose him... We get Tebow for a year (& thank god we lose him LOl). We get that Idiot graves.....Thank god the cards woke up & got rid of him But then we get him.

Izzy was no good from day one it was written on a rock Don't hire him.

Woody opens his big mouth - We get shotty & then another loser the Rams take him.

We ruin Sanchez We butt fumble - We pass footballs from WR,s to DB,s. We get that stiff V G as the next great L. Taylor ...he could not sack his own mother.

We let Marino beat us on the Spike. We put sanchaz back in pre-season Vs the Giants to get hurt for the entire year.

Geno I need say no more.

Look I think we can do it now. But we need to be tough it is in the woody & big macs hands now. They must do it....Then it is TB that must do it as well as us as fans.

The new Cardinals owner not his father or his father but the 3rd gen meets every new player & says you are here to win us a SB this is why we brought you in.

Woody may be a nice guy but he is a sap...nice guys Finnish last.

Would I like going out with Woody for a glass of wine Pinkies up LOL. Yes I would love to talk with him & it would not even be about football.

Would I want to play for him He_l no. Would I want to play for Bidwell He_l yes.

But that is me. I believe in the George Washington America not the new one.....except God bless our troops they are Real Americans

I guess we have entirely different perceptions of what constitutes a "loser". Parcells took the Jets to the AFC Championship game, and came within one half of football of reaching the SB. He was the beginning of the transformation of this franchise from SOJ. Belichick duping the Jets is no fault of the Jets. He saw a golden opportunity with Kraft and took it. Good for him. It worked out well. But again, how does this make the Jets losers? Idzik was widely hailed as a great pickup by fans when we signed him. Until he wasn't anymore. (For the record, he wasn't as catastrophic as some fans claim. Idzik drafted Richardson, signed Eric Decker, and robbed the Saints of Chris Ivory. This implication that he did nothing right is hyperbolic).

How is the Jets taking chances on Brett Favre or Tim Tebow any different than many other teams taking chances on players? It happens every year to a lot of teams. Favre took the Jets to 8-3 before getting injured. We're losers for that? And please don't even mention the ESPN created "Buttfumble" garbage that the masses have adopted as some weak attempt at humor. Sanchez took the Jets to two Championship games, and true to NY Jets fan form, all he's remembered for by some fans is that ridiculous play.

Call me overly optimistic or having "rose colored glasses", but I don't see the train derailment that others choose to see with this team.

I get what you are saying but butterscotch our team is neither winner or loser, we are in the middle... have we taken the next step no, seems like we are content of being in the middle of the pack... yes Woody needs to take a step back and let the professionals run the team, but at the same time the team is as strong as it's personnel in the front office... until now we didn't have those football personnel to rely on to draft to develop talent...

Have to give Maccagnan & Bowles a chance to build this team... I figured from jump street the Jets should give four years to evaluate the talent Macc brings in via the draft... With the first year a successful failure having a 10 win season but not making the playoffs should be encouraging that this team could be heading in the right direction...

Last year Chan Gailey introduced his game plan, this year retooling players that fit better to his style should boost the production... Our defense will only get better with the youth movement... Our achilles heel has been special teams, special being the key word... Do I see us surpassing last year's season record, not sure...

All fans understand that to remain a winner for a sustained time the team needs a franchise QB. Everyone understands that.

What you can't do is sell the farm to move up in a draft for a bad QB. We did that with Sanchez. Yes they took a gamble both on Sanchez, and a much smaller one on smith, who no body else wanted. it isn't even the pick you lose it's the 6 years you lose praying the bad QB's taken early, develop into something.

Yeah Lil Bill is going to the HOF. Did he take a major risk on a QB? No! Brady fell to him in the 6th round. Brady is a candidate for GOAT QB.

One of two ways to get a franchise QB. Both of them require a lot of luck. 1) Be the worst team in the league in a year when there is a great QB in the class. Like the Colts with Andrew Luck (maybe) Peyton Manning. 2) Just be shit house lucky with a late round draft pick. Tom Brady.

The way to insure that you stay a bad to mediocre team is to keep on gambling and reaching for bad QB's like the Jets have.

IMO the way to find a good to great QB is take a talented QB every year who has fallen in the draft for one reason or another. Think that is what Macc is going to do.

Last year they took Petty in the 4th. At the end of the 2013 season Petty was in the conversation with Winston, and Mariota as the first QB taken in the 2015 draft. Really talented kid. He was injured first game of the season , still had a good year, but then shit the bed at the Senior Bowl. Fell all the way to the 4th round. WOW. Great value.

Coming into last year Cook was being talked about as perhaps the fist QB taken. 56% completions. He's going to fall, if he fall to mid 2nd (don't know if that will happen) Jets will probably pounce. Now they will have 2 talented young QB's. Maybe, just maybe, one of them, under Gailey turns into "that guy". Maybe not.

If not, you take another value QB next year.

butterscotch if you know of a sure fire, can't miss QB in this draft, yeah, lets go get him.

I don't think he's there. Not to say one of the QB's in this draft won't turn out to be an excellent QB, but as yet I don't think there is anyone you can say, "Yeah that's the guy, trade the draft away and get him.

If a GM shoots and misses on a trade up like that, he's finished.

I don't see the train derailment I don't see it now also! But we need to see more...I keep saying this can change.

But it is where we came from that I see. I liked Sanchez & I did not like Izzy from day one...He was flawed! As far as he did some good I would have drafted Richardson also. & Hitler built the autobahn & the VW every fool does something right. Charles Manson liked the beach boys.

As far as billy boy leaving the jets We were bettered by the Pats. Winners win & losers lose. Again.

You were the only fan that would've drafted him at 13, then. I remember everyone going "Sheldon Who?" when it went down. I understand Idzik wasn't a great GM, but why does everything have to be such extremes? Players, coaches, and GM's far too often get too much love or hate. There's no middle ground.

I think we agree but for the last 20 years we have been bad with a couple of flashes of goodness that we ruined or could not take it to the next level. But I agree with you. That & I will not say at this time that the front office is great I need to see more ...that is me. I also say I want the youth but I don't see the results yet it has to be good youth......Now I am not saying I should see it now because it does take years to see it.

But as of now I need to see more that is fair & right IMO. There is no jet fans that I know of that is as high on TB as I am. I love the guy but I still need to see more of him as a HC. He still needs to prove it to me.

Let me keep it simple!

1) I love TB & for the 100th time I think he could be a Great not just a good HC. But because I think so does not make it happen.

2) We have been a loser for most of the last 20 + years & when we get close we fall off the wagon.

3) We have a GM that needs time & I can not judge him at this time. But I don't see the timing of this team """"TODAY""""". But it is early in the season so he could end up being good this year & great next year +

4) Woody is a bad owner! He may be a nice guy. He may care. he may tuck his kids in every night. but he is a bad owner. Now I also believe people can change Maybe time & Big mac & TB will teach him or the ghosts of Super Bowl past John Elliott, George Sauer & Dave Herman will visit him one night.. I pray for that.

5) We need a top QB yes we could win lotto & Brad Johnson could win us a SB but we need to be in this thing with the big boys. Lets not chance it lets win it.

6) We don't have to win a SB too prove it. Buffalo did very well without winning the SB. But it sure helps.

7) WE MUST ALL BE WINNERS<<<<<<FANS TOO.

8) I need to toss this one in & I am sorry for writing this because a good friend is on this site. BUT Mark Gastineau was a Loser. He was flash but he brought us no cash. Two great Defensive ends on one team but one was a loser & one was a winner (Joe klecko). This proves that you can be great or good & a loser. George Martin of the Giants (I hate saying this) was a winner. Gas was not.

9) I will write many positive things on the Jets after the draft so I am not all doom & gloom but I must bring up what I have seen in the past & the concerns going forward. I could not sleep at night if I did not do this.

10) Bottom line is I feel good about our future but I want to voice my concerns to make sure they grow this team. We need as fans to keep them heading straight up. Because I don't want to rent a plane & fly a plane over the field with a banner saying fire ____________.

I agree with that. To this day I like Walt Michaels as a jets coach. not great but good. We fired him for Joe Walton...Losers lose again.

But yes I agree with what you said. No middle ground stinks.

That being said Izzy stunk. But he was so bad he was 1/4 good. The next guy got a pocket full of cash to spend.

As far as Richardson G will tell you I was all for him from day 1 a great pick....on the field. The part I did not know about off the field I am not sure about.

he was one of the few players I knew by just looking at him. Just like Phil Collins one minute of seeing him play the drums & I knew he was a great one. John Candy also as an actor. In fact John Candy help win a SB for the 49's LOL
