Yes Hind-sight is 20-20 and Kevin White is hurt the whole year but!

I'm VERY happy we took Williams, regardless of how White turns out. This offense is a QB away from relevance, not another WR . . .[/QUOTE]

Couldn't agree more and I find the entire premise of the post ridiculous...if white wasn't hurt and assumeing he may not have been... you do realize Jets82 that fate has a way of interrupting one's disillusions.

Shoulder injury his junior year.
Pigeon-toed and runs heel to toe.
Not sure if pigeon toed is conducive to injury avoidance or not.
Pigeon-toed probably not, but camel-toed is another story.

I disagree! As many posters know I wanted White. MaineJet, what your saying is to ALWAYS take the BPA. What happens next year if the BPA, a Defensive Lineman is starring us in the face as we pick? The year after and the year after that? As it turned out, Richardson got suspended. No one knew, not us armchair GM's. Same as no one knew White would go down with an injury. I hope Smith turns into an exciting player. Enjoyed you postings Jets82.
THANK YOU! Finally someone feels my pain here, LOL. I loved what you said about what if next year the BPA is a d-lineman and the year after that the same position player, etc-etc... Great point! I mean damn, sooner or later this has got to STOP and they have to draft a player, an impact blue-chip player that fits the team's needs. A player THAT ISN"T A DAMN D-LINEMAN or corner or safety. No one knew about White's injury that was to come, so there was no excuse not to draft him IMO.

Mykcuz pointed out that the Jets knew about Richardson's problem with marijuana and failing prior drug test. They also knew about Wilkerson's upcoming contract battle and they knew they couldn't pay them both huge contracts. Well that is an excuse I can accept but I'll ask you this, if Williams will be the player everyone (including me) is hoping he will be then they eventually will have to pay him big money as well. At that point it will be bigger money then even Richardson and Wilkerson will ask for what's the difference here?

BTW, I'm guessing you meant at the end of your post that you hope White will be an exciting player, not Smith?

Could be very true but being neither you or I or anyone else on this board are of a higher power or can see or predict the future so none of us know do we?

That's very true and most likely most fans would have started that thread and posted comments agreeing with it. I can tell you for a fact I wouldn't have and posted comments arguing against it because you cant predict injuries. I would have also argued that White has no injury history (to my knowledge) so this would have been a moot point and pointless thread to start.

I would have argued that the Jets drafted an excellent player who could have had an immediate impact at a position of need. So how could you be upset at that. Plus Williams although the higgest ranked player was not a position of need for us at that time because none of us knew about Richardson's troubles that were coming ahead. So what was the point of drafting Williams unless the Jets knew of his troubles. Which none of us can answer that question.
i believe it's very possible mac had knowledge of richardson being both pothead as well as a man child idiot..

Are you saying that contributed to White's injury and insinuating that White probably wouldn't have gotten injured with us?

Nope, I was not. I believe he was hurt before they even started training camp and would have been hurt wherever he went. Unless it was the Pats, then he would prob be rookie of the yr.

Lol, ok I'll give you that and knowing our luck that's how it probably would have happened.
