I wanted defense in this defensive of a draft. We are in a perfect position of a Top 3 player falling into our laps or a team wanting to trade up for a QB. Maybe Oakland would give up their 4th and 24th for #3. Possibly another trade down grabbing Risner to play Center and Dillard or Ford to play Guard.

Hard to disagree with your trade down scenario particularly with grabbing fortifications on the OL. However if we do stay at #3, I'm starting to think Q Williams is our best bet. To me he is a bigger A Donald and would help fill out GWilliams 4-man front. Also think that if Leo Williams is ever going to get salvaged we need talent surrounding him.

Now here's a mock draft for the Jets I would love.

My fear with Bosa is he is always hurt just like his brother. And Nick is already damaged goods. I hope he isn't on the board at our pick.

Please let this be the one

Drumroll please.......
1. Arizona Cardinals | Quinnen Williams | DL | Alabama

2. San Francisco 49ers | Nick Bosa | EDGE | Ohio State

3. New York Jets | Josh Allen | EDGE | Kentucky

The only scenario I'm really happy with

All three of these guys better be all world because I don’t want to Jets to draft either one of them. It seems that this is the consensus top three and it’s pissing me off. I want the Jets to trade back for a boatload of picks and draft an oline men or that beast WR from Arizona State or just draft that oline men from Alabama, Williams at number three if they have to stay at number 3.

My only question with Josh Allen is there a scheme fit issue with him. I'm reading that there may be, so why pick him? On the other hand, if someone is a top 3 pick he should transcend scheme and be an impact player regardless of scheme. Someone a lot smarter than me will hopefully figure that out for the Jets if he is available to us.

TCT, I am known by every person who knows me as the most negative person alive. of course I blame it on a lifetime of Jet fandom, but I think you definitely give my negativity a run for the money. I don't usually do new years resolutions, but this year I am doing one. My new years resolution is to be more negative then you:global (45):

Both of you kids get off my lawn until the Jets win a Super Bowl. I'm not only negative, I'm cranky, too.

My only question with Josh Allen is there a scheme fit issue with him.

He could fit in most defenses as an inside linebacker or outside linebacker in a 4-3 or 3-4. He's athletic enough to cover and play well against the run, so he’d work well as an outside backer in a 4-3. Set him up on the edge and Go get QBs ala LT. He can line up anywhere . Great speed and athleticism in coverage

you can also read this all over about him :

The run on defensive front seven players continues with the New York Jets drafting to fill a huge need while also adding a dynamic playmaker.

Josh Allen has been the most dominant defensive player in the SEC this season, notching 18.5 tackles for a loss and 14 sacks. For the Jets, with a massive need at pass-rusher, Allen is both a need and a fit.

At 6’5? and 260 pounds, Allen can play in any defensive scheme. That means whomever is coaching the Jets next season will be comfortable plugging him in off the edge.

I'm afraid he will never fall to 3

I don’t think I’d have a problem with any of those three guys ending up on the Jets. They’re all great players.

Josh Allen was a beast at Kentucky with 17 sacks and 5 forced fumbles last year. (He’s also originally from NJ). The only question is scheme fit. He looks like a 3-4 edge rusher. If Williams is emphasizing a 4-3, it might not be a fit.

Those stats are eye popping. I’m not certain Allen drops to 3 anyway. He could go 1 or 2 ahead of Bosa. His stock is going to rise as the draft nears. Just watch.

The Jets need a stud WR in the Antonio Brown/Julio Jones mold. But that player isn’t there in this year’s draft. (And Brown isn’t coming to NY).

So you’re left with a pretty easy decision once again for Macc. He’s going to have a great defensive prospect sitting right there for him just like with Jamal Adams.

I wish there was someone there to help Darnold at #3, but you can’t reach for a WR or RB at that spot.

A trade down to 7 and have one of QWilliams, Jonah Williams, or CFerrell there would be ideal.

The Jets may get a great deal for that #3 pick from a QB needy team but I have a hunch that they won't trade back very far IF they even do and their first pick will be the edge rusher. I'm hearing that Williams has insisted on it from someone close to the action. I personally would prefer a left tackle but I don't get to make that pick.

Have most mocks (including mine) been wrong about the Cardinals?

Most people assume they are taking Nick Bosa, but ...

They have Chandler Jones and Golden at the DE's and both can make the switch to 3-4 OLB if the Cards switch to a base 3-4. These two players have scheme versatility in that respect, and one Cardinals fan told me they believe Golden will be 100% healthy next year and back to his 2016 Pro Bowl form.

I got this directly from a Cardinals fan who lives in Arizona and seems really plugged into what the Cardinals are thinking, and he also assured me they LOVE Quinnen Williams and thats who they are picking if they can't trade down for more picks, which every team in the top three (Cards, 49ers and Jets) are hoping for, but if they have to stay at #1 he insisted they have a much bigger need at DT in the 4-3 or DE in the 3-4 than they do at DE or OLB in either scheme, and they LOVE Quinnen Williams.

Well I looked at the Cardinals depth chart and at least so far as needs are concerned, and scheme versatility, he wasn't just blowing smoke. He was right on both counts, so his insistence that the Cards will take Q if they remain at #1 makes sense to me, and I can easily see why they love Q.

I can only hope you’re right. If the Cards take Quinnen Williams, that means we get either Bosa or Allen (assuming we like both of them).

A pass rusher. I haven’t seen one of those since John Abraham. How long ago was that?
